I'd say a little over reacting all the way around. ? no latchkey kids in here but me? by 10 I would be left alone entire weekends . when I was 11 in AK summers my old man woukd just say be home by dark . if he was out fishing and I did not go it could be 5 or 6 days till I saw him back at the house or cabin . diff times I get it but if your kid is 9 and can't be alone at home for 10 hrs you already raised a sad sack .
