ManOnManOral
It will be a KLIM. My current is a valdez shell. It has lasted years, done its job very well, but now it is time to update. I am considering one of their insulated offerings and am looking for some input from those using the insulated jackets in the line up. Thanks. Klim is excellent but pricey. I bought a 1year left over MotorFist jacket/pants a few years ago for 1/2 price and its every bit as good as any Klim gear. FXR suit my oldest boy bought last year has been excellent too but creeping up on Klim's pricing.

I was considering other gore tex such as North Face, Acretyrex etc, these are ski focused which are pretty much the same but tend to use a lighter outer shell. Some of those products are over $1000 for a jacket. Klim is actually very well priced for what it is. The valdez is a pro shell gore tex, the insulated products use a lesser effective gore product hence asking for the feedback.
Edmo
Get the kewenaw. Works great for trail riding, probably too warm if you’re into off trail all day.

frenchy
any reduction in quality now that KLIM is owned by Polaris?
DriftBusta
I’m on my 3rd Valdez. Best jacket made imo. With a tek vest insulated jackets are too restrictive. Culator on hcs will get u one at 15% off list

In 2017 Motofist sponsored several IronDog teams, gave them the very best gear they sell. It was comfortable and waterproof but fell apart quickly and was not near warm enough. Two teams I know of swapped back to their Klim gear before the half way point because the Motofist stuff was falling apart and just not warm enough. It's probably fine for normal recreational riding but I don't know anyone who thinks it's as good or as warm as Klim.

You can bet as sure as they start offering a 4xl size it will fall apart. Polaris will never learn how to build reliable big bores.

My Valdez has been stellar, as a matter of fact it is still in very good shape but I burnt a hole in the arm on hot exhaust. I have used it in -40 and been warm, and it is great in plus 5C as well being you layer. I was just thinking i may go back yo an insulated. The performance gore tex is a cut below the pro shell goretex and the pricing is within 100 bucks.
