That's what I'm saying. My grandpa still went out for cocktails and dinner every week. Took fishing trips and vacations with all the kids routinely.

He made half what I do inflation adjusted and lived every bit as much if not more

Yeah but did he buy a 15 year old Duesenburg SSJ with 200K miles on the clock!?!?!?

140k is awesome money.... but I had 2 homes the and never fully recovered from being laid off up here and having to make an impromptu move. It costs allot to start a whole 2nd life in another place on 30 days notice.

I'm much better off financially now making 70% what I did last year given I dont have to sustain 2 households

I forgot about the two houses, makes a bit more sense now.

My bad bro. :bc:

How much money did he spend on fancy new toys?

Not as much as I do. He did buy the kids dirt bikes and he drove new vehicles.

I'm not saying I dont spend money. I'm just saying there is zero chance I could do what he did on my wage

How much did Iraq cost?

What does that have to do with someone who signed up for college and took a loan out for it?

I've had more loans than I can remember in my life and I paid them all off.

Bernie Sanders: 'We Must Pay Off Student Debt To Stay True To Our Liberal Values Of Not Taking Personal Responsibility For Anything'
June 24th, 2019

article-4408-1.jpg

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Bernie Sanders announced he would pay off all $1.6 trillion in student debt if elected president "so that we can stay true to our liberal values of not taking personal responsibility for anything."

"What kind of nation do we want to be?" he asked a crowd gathered around him as he exited a local Denny's restaurant. "Do we want to be a nation that asks people to work hard and take responsibility for themselves?" The crowd booed, and Bernie Sanders wagged his finger. "That's right, we don't. We want to be a nation that remains true to itself. A nation where you can borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars and expect other people to pay for it."

"That's what this nation is all about," he added, glaring at the crow, "making poor financial decisions and then expecting someone else to foot the bill. That's what attracted me to the socialist platform in the first place."

At publishing time, Sanders had asked if anyone in the crowd could run back into the Denny's and pay for his tab since he had skipped out on the bill.

because A HS diploma isn't the ticket to a stress free middle class living like it was in the 50's-70's.

Ambition and the will to work hard is the ticket to a middle class living, always has been and always will be. Stress free is for the lazy and timid, fuck em.

I made 139k last year and got a 29,800 profit share. Close to 170k

That ain't shit.......

This year I wont hit 100k.

Thanks union

while i would not say that living in a high cost of living area it's about what someone needs to live a good life. when i fell back below 100k in my household for a couple of years it was a huge wakeup call and struggle to live like we did.

You'd be the richest guy in town in alot of small towns in the USA with $100k wage, other than the farmers.

2 kids a couple years out of school should be making 100k around here and struggling to pay their bills and save up enough to putt a decent downstroke on a house.  cost of living varies so much from place to place it's why i don't support a 15 min wage.  my son makes more than that at 19 working in a restaurant but certainly not what someone would need to be paid everywhere.

IKR?

I guess one good thing to come of that mentality is most of them will work themselves to death and leave the planet sooner.

Enslaving yourself to a capitalist enterprise is natural, bro. Nature is capitalism. Capitalism is why we see birds. It's science.

That company wasn't cheap, in many ways I bought myself. I have had years where I have made HUGE money, I have also had years where I lost HUGE money.

I know what it is to bet the farm, and to quote Marshal Mathers I've known that success was my only motherfuckin option beside losing everything; sure it was stressful and let me tell you stress is a motivator as is the desire to win :thumb: But it's also not for everyone, choices :bc:
