I did find this so far.

Today, Sanders and his wife own two homes. They own a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home in Chittenden County, Vermont, purchased in 2009 for $405,000. And they own a one-bedroom town house on Capitol Hill, purchased in 2007 for $488,999. They have two mortgages on the latter property totaling $464,550. We don’t know precisely how much debt remains on those mortgages, but there’s a good chance it’s significantly higher than $300,000.

Nothing in that article talks about this "other home" in Maine.  That they just sold to buy the one in Vermont.  ?????

Over 95% of the folks that have them, inherited them.  Most of those twice over.

So kinda like sanders wife inheriting a property, selling it and buying another?

I was trying to show they have at lest a mortgage or two already before buying a third house..but it seems they sold some other house to buy the last one.

Just making the point that the other home must have been some inheritance that didn't need to be shown on taxes.

Snopes seems to be following exactly what is being talked about....trying to debunk everything we seem to be talking about.  I thought that was kind in interesting.

his mother in laws i guess.

Remember this too

Burlington College, a small Vermont institution once headed by Jane Sanders, the wife of Democratic presidential contender Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders, will be closing its doors after this school year because of the “crushing weight of the debt” from the purchase Mrs. Sanders made of a new campus in 2010.

Under Mrs. Sanders‘ directive, the college purchased 32 acres of land along North Avenue for about $10 million to expand its campus. In a statement quoted by Vermont Public Radio, the college’s dean of operations and advancement, Coralee Holm, said the school had “struggled under the crushing weight of the debt incurred by the purchase of the Archdiocese property on North Avenue.”

The school said it tried to sell off some properties to pay off its debt, but in late April, the college’s lender, People’s United Bank, said it was pulling the institution’s line of credit, Ms. Holm said at a press conference on Monday. The progressive school enrolled 224 students as of the fall of 2014.

“Founded in 1972 as an informal gathering of students, Burlington College grew into a small, regionally accredited liberal arts college,” the Burlington Free Press reported. “But financial strain and academic probation created by an ambitious but ill-fated expansion under then-President Jane Sanders onto a new campus on prime waterfront land led to the school’s demise.”

Depending on the bank, as long as they are earning income from one or more properties the existence of a mortgage is probably not so much of an issue. Not saying thats Bernie's situation just pointing this out to show that the number of mortgages are not always an issue.

At the time I was trying to see how much they were spending/month on houses...but who cares.

Still owns 3 homes of which I'll bet all have pretty hefty property taxes.  2014 taxes returns show income of $204,000K.   His wife doesn't earn squat after she almost bankrupted that college.  The other income comes from SS benies ($46K).   How many people do you know who preach income inequality (besides Hillary) own homes in excess of $1,000,000.   He's a hypocrite plain and simple.

Guy does nothing in congress yet owns that much real estate.

Here's another one for all of the conspiracy theorists. Here's the link to the entire article. http://vtdigger.org/2016/07/15/sanders-campaign-millions-go-to-mystery-firm/

Special report: Sanders campaign millions go to mystery firm

Nestled near the end of a suburban cul-de-sac in Alexandria, Virginia, is one of the most profitable media buying agencies in the 2016 primary race for the White House.

The unassuming two-story, single family home at 4507 Penwood Drive, is the registered address for Old Towne Media LLC — the media buying company that purchased more than $82 million in TV ad time for Bernie Sanders’ Democratic presidential campaign, Federal Election Commission reports through May show.

Old Towne’s income from the Sanders campaign has not been disclosed, but the industry standard for ad buy commissions is 15 percent. Based on that formula, the firm could have made $12 million.

The ad agency, established in 2014, has almost exclusively served the Sanders campaign, and the company keeps a low profile. It has no website and no listed phone number. A full list of principals isn’t publicly available.

Old Towne Media has another connection to Sanders: The two principal buyers for the company worked in the past with his wife, Jane. Jane Sanders, Shelli Hutton-Hartig and Barbara Abar Bougie were media buyers during Bernie Sanders’ 2006 Senate race.

Bernie Sanders' net worth comes almost entirely from his 44 year career in politics. Sanders has been mayor of Burlington, Vermont. He has also held positions in the U.S. House of Representatives and as a United States Senator. As a senator since 2006, Sanders has earned a salary between$165,200 and $174,000 a year.

And, he will get 80% of that per year for life as his retirement package......nevermind what he collects in "speaking fees".....
