I don’t buy that arguement about rings...how can you say in one breath that he is the most talented ever but he has to win 4 more rings to be considered the GOAT? He is surrounded by mediocrity including the coaches yet he basically singlehandedly wills them to win.

Brady is a good qb but his success winning Super Bowls is just a result of Belichick and the Patriots as a team. If Rodgers played for the Pats, they would have 6+ Super Bowls.

However, running around and making plays that Brady can't doesn't make Rodgers better, just different. Brady uses his understanding of the game to his advantage. 2 hours ago, Jimmy Snacks said: I don’t buy that arguement about rings...how can you say in one breath that he is the most talented ever but he has to win 4 more rings to be considered the GOAT? I guess you could go back to Randy Moss. Fact is the Pats win no matter who is in there for Brady to throw to. 1 hour ago, snoughnut said: Exactly, which makes Rodgers the GOAT. Legend
The Pats have Brady and Bill. Otherwise they are all mediocre. RB by committee, and none of them are great. A bunch of flunkies at WR other than Edelman, and he isnt all that. Just a hardworking short guy that catches the ball. Gronk is hurt every other week. Talent wise, IMO the teams are similar. In fact I think the Packers offense is much more potent. Brady (ok and Bill) leads his team to SB wins. Rodgers (and McCarthy) leads his team to NFC championship game losses. Sure I agree if Rodgers was with the Pats, he would have either 10 rings or Bill wouldnt put up with his shit and he would be QB for the Browns. The Pats may have won the SB last year if they hadn't removed Buttler from the lineup. He must have really pissed Bill off IMO, there are 3 coaches in NE. Belicheck, McDaniel's and Brady. That's one of the reasons that they are so successful. If you remove Brady and add Rodgers would they be as successful? Does Rodgers have the same drive as Brady? He didn't stay in NE last year because he sucked. If TB12 doesn't like the call when he looks at the defense he changes the play anyway. I think reading defenses is one of TB12's strong points. We all know it isn't his mobility, LOL.
Platinum Contributing Member Jimmy Snacks Posted November 5, 2018 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted November 5, 2018 Bill Belichek is the best coach in the history of the NFL and nobody is denying Brady's talent but It's more about Bill....Matt Cassell went 11-5 in 2008 for The Patriots. No doubt about Belichick. But I don't think Bill would have as many rings if it wasn't for TB12. The guy is driven. It wouldn't surprise me if he spent more time studying film than any other QB. Brady is 41 so Rogers has time to beat Brady IF he avoids injuries and that’s tough to do. It’s OK at 34 to scramble but he will lose a step and that’s when he becomes a drop back QB and vulnerable to most defenses. Brady reads defenses the best of any QB’s in the league and that’s why he is where he is. JMO

This being able to harness the talent and work it within a system is something that Rodgers and the GB coaches have not been able to figure out and end of the day football is a team sport with the QB and the HC as it's leadership therefore the title of GOAT will go to the ones with the most rings on their finger. ckf
Dez Bryant diagnosed with torn Achilles, will get MRI An initial diagnosis shows recently signed New Orleans Saints wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a torn Achilles tendon in practice Friday, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Bryant will undergo an MRI to confirm the diagnosis. Bryant, who will get a second opinion on the injury after the MRI, suffered the injury while running a routine route in practice, sources told NFL Network's Jane Slater. He signed a one-year deal with the Saints on Wednesday and practiced with the team for the first time Thursday.
Angry ginger
sucks for the saints but at least they didn't spend much. don't think from some of the comments i read he was truly in game shape figuring he wasn't playing this year. while i think they should shrink preseason games to 2 they do need to keep the preseason long enough to make sure that the bodies are where they should be. Naahhhh. What is the record of combined backups in the Brady era? I’d bet it’s over .600. In Green Bay for Rogers? Probably .200. As much as you drama leaguers can’t admit it the fact remains belichek has created The best system in the history of football and it is plug and play virtually everywhere. And sorry. I simply can not give the GOAT title to a guy that runs like a 45 year old accountant does trying to catch his bus after a day in his cubicle.

So we are judging the GOAT based on talent alone? In that case I’d put Cam Newton, RG3, and Jamarcus Russell in the mix too. Last I checked the object of football is to win games and championships. I don’t think Rodgers needs 4 more rings to be the goat, but with 1 (and just 1 SB appearance) you shouldn’t be in the conversation. And I agree about the lack of talent around Rodgers. But the patriots only have elite coaching. They haven’t had a great defense, running game, or even an elite receiver in years. They’ve been picking towards the back of each round in the draft like every year since 2002 and only been able to take chances at potential ‘great’ players through cheap free agency signings and trades.
