Dow 26,000:

Recommended Posts

Another day swing of almost 1%.  I think I read that 2017 had 18 days of swings of more than 1% and we are already over 30 so far this year and counting.  What some fail to realize is 2017 was one of the calmest years ever for the markets and returned over 25%, can't say I remember another in this type of cycle.  Amazing.

2020? That's a long time and a million things could cause it be then.

Regardless if it's up or good you'll just say someone cheated

We average a bust every 7-10 years.

You do know what 'average' means, right?

So you're just playing averages and has nothing to do with current power structure.

Well, yes, of course. I'm looking at historical data, not making predictions based on current politics.

But history has a well known anti Trump bias...

Holy fuck. Smh.

Regardless of who occupies the government, the market booms and busts every 7-10 years. How long have we seen market growth since the recession?

I mean, it's really not that hard to grasp.

Me:

"There's a bust coming soon if you look at the history of the markets."

Dripper:

"Why are you being so critical of trump?"

Me:

*Stares in triple digit IQ*

You used quotes for something I never said

It's neither pro nor anti Trump to look at the boom and bust cycle and predict another bust coming.

Yet regardless if or when it does, it doesn’t change a long term investing strategy.  Time in, not timing.  Bull markets ALWAYS last longer than Bear markets.
