  1. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-russia-probe-durham-report John Durham, the special counsel who led the investigation into potential misconduct in the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe, has made a career of investigating high-profile public corruption. In a 300-plus page report, the Trump administration appointee determined that the FBI should never have launched its investigation into connections between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia during the 2016 election, according to the report compiled over three years and released on Monday. Durham, 73, was appointed to serve as special counsel in October 2020 by then-Attorney General William Barr. He previously was the Justice Department’s top prosecutor in Connecticut — a position he was appointed to in 2017 and left in 2021. Durham became a lawyer in 1975. He is known for having handled high-profile, sensitive investigations in both Democratic and Republican administrations during his decadeslong career with the Justice Department. He was appointed by then-Attorney General Janet Reno in 1999 to investigate corruption surrounding the use of FBI informants in Boston, and later by then-Attorney General Michael Mukasey to investigate the CIA’s destruction of videotapes of detainee interrogations in 2008. Durham closed the latter probe without bringing any charges. In addition to his work as a special prosecutor, Durham has extensive experience as a trial lawyer. He went after gangs in New Haven, prosecuted mob figures, and secured a guilty plea from former Connecticut Gov. John Rowland, a Republican who admitted to corruption.
  2. Reverse seared strip steaks on the SnS Kamado tonight. Kingsford lump with hickory chunks. Dry brined for 24 hours.
  3. That's one of the advantages of this one. Some heat escapes and some is used converting the water to steam, requiring a hotter fire to maintain temperature.
  4. What lump do you like the best that we can get locally? Briquettes work fine with that setup. I have about 4 bags left over from my WSM from about 2019 I need to use up. When set up like a traditional kamado, I would definitely use lump. Yes, hotter is easy but bringing it down is a pain. Probably not a big issue once you get used to the cooker though. Fairly easy to run but not nearly as simple as my pellet oven or @ckf's crock pot.
  5. This is made by the same guys that do the Slow n Sear for Weber kettles, you have probably seen those. They make the same system for other cookers like the Big Green Egg. https://snsgrills.com/products/slow-n-sear-cooking-system-for-large-big-green-egg The issue with kamados is they are heavy as hell and don't change temperatures fast. Very simple to run though, I just need to get some more experience with it.
  6. You should see how they ride their sleds when the conditions are good!
  7. He will pretty quickly get up to the top 3 I think. From there it will be tougher to pass Perez and Alonso.
  8. New pit, Slow n Sear Kamado. All stainless steel internals. Can set up for 2 zone cooling, indirect like a normal Kamado, direct grilling, or searing. My buddy won it a few years ago. $1,800 cooker I picked up for $500. He said he used it about 10 times.
  9. Was out of town all week for work. Went out for dinner and drinks every night. Didn't see anyone drinking a single Bud Lite. The hotel bar didn't move any either.
  10. I think there is a big difference between someone walking around with a go pro or cell phone camera to upload to youtube compared to say a full on camera crew filming for National Geographic. The parks are covered with people taking pictures and videos anyways. Just don't have a film crew set up on the trail and block everyone else.
  11. Yup, do all the right things and they sock you with extra costs in the name of equity. Additional buyers in the market increases demand and pushes the price of homes ,especially starter homes, up even further.
  12. Credit card companies won't report until at least 30 days past due.
  13. Could you imagine trying to solve murders from gang wars in places like Chicago?
  14. They can't even keep the power grid up the way it is. They are going to need massive investments in generation and distribution.
  15. I know, I should have gotten one right off the bat. It would look good in that area but I get into some rougher stuff on other parts of the property.
  16. Takes me around 2.5 hours to mow my place. An electric version to do this would be upwards of $30k. Takes longer to sharpen the blades than it does to maintain the Kawi engine.
  17. Barely, he went to Rochester and Duluth I believe. Fox 9 was the major metro debate and it was at noon on a weekday. Good political strategy though.
  18. They pulled the same thing in MN in the race for governor last year. Few debates and what they had was on outstate news channels that weren't even broadcast state wide. Or what was state wide they scheduled on a weekday during the afternoon when everyone was working.
  19. They deal in sensationalism, they need to create a narrative to have eye balls locked on the screens.
  20. Fact check: This claim is false, millions of stranded airport passengers watch CNN every day.
  21. Mainstream media leaves a lot to be desired, both on the left and right. Their whole goal is to get their audience worked up 24/7/365. Some "news" in the daytime program but prime time is all opinion pieces. I watch Bloomberg in the morning and read the WSJ online. Then Gutfeld! at night before I go to bed. We could all use a laugh at the end of the day in this world.
