Great episode!

He does a good job and he was confronted full force by Guns , God, Coal, and Trump and handled it well. I was also struck by how easily  black and white live there together.

he used to have a show called 'no reservations'. was far superior. had no PC bullshit

What PC bullshit bothered you in tonight's episode?

No Reservations was more focused on food..I'm glad he has gotten more into politics and issues.

A lot of the south is like that. Not sure if WV would be considered the south.

I noticed that too, interracial dating and marriage seems to be common there.

Absolutely and Bourdain mentioned it as well. WV really is an interesting and misunderstood region IMO...granted there is poverty and an opioid problem but the whole country has issues with those.

Drove a prototype to NC a few years ago and spent some time on the way back traveling around WV.   Extremely beautiful and the people are super nice.

The coal industry only supports so many. Drive around those hills, there is poverty there like you wouldnt believe exists in this country.

I like Bourdain.  He's center left and I'm center right but he has an open mind.  He addresses some pretty controversial issues on both sides.

He would be a fun guy to share a beer with.

He does not fall into the standard left wing pitfalls (ie he does not preech his morality).

Anthony Bourdain is awesome.  Have watched all of his shows for years.  This episode was good too.

His writings are the best. The show is good, but only mediocre over his written word.

Yep, very good episode. WV is a pretty cool state. They should build more Jeep and ATV trails and open it up to more recreation. It could be a fairly popular ORV destination.

That Rock Bouncing shit is wild...holy crap!  They were talking about trying to promote it more as an off-roader destination.
