I find this slightly less disgusting than my kid sitting in front of me right now making veterans day cards for my BIL who was in the guards........and my FIL who was never even deployed in war time  I dont think I am going to make it too long before I start telling my kid the truth about this country and our military. She was writing down the pledge today and said they were singing fucking Lee Greenwood in school choir today

Just a pile of dumb monkeys , and what a song

You're a "good father" to tell them the "truth" of our country and our military.  I mean, let's face it, who better than you to educate the next generation on sadness, despair, shame and blatant in your face idiocy.

Carry on.

But wait....take a pill first, relax, and maybe think about another way to express your hatred leaving your children out of it.

Dude, I didn't mean any offense by my comment.  I'm simply saying maybe you should give your children a chance to be a success in life in spite of the father they have.  That's all.

I never pushed my beliefs on my kids.

One is a far right conservative and the other is a far left liberal. They are both genuine people who walk the talk. I respect both of them and their beliefs.

I would be willing to bet the far left social warriors on here wouldn't last over night where  my son lives.

I agree, the best things you can teach your kids is logic, the importance of telling the truth, and to not be afraid to challenge something if you disagree or don't understand it.  They hopefully will find their way by the time they become adults.  The sad reality is our kids are being indoctrinated by the schools and universities.  Not the way Ben thinks, pride in country is a good thing.  And thousands have fought and died in wars to protect us, and let us live as a nation.  Simple fact.  Leftists want everyone to forget that and pretend there is no evil in the world, and given the preponderance of liberals in schools and college campuses, so its clear what the larger threat is, socialist/collectivist/anticapitalists.  My daughter figured it out when she got her first big paycheck.

Pride in country is idiocy and leads to clouded judgement when difficult questions need asking

Agree, I wanted my kids to be able to think for themselves and resist group think. I do worry about my son's naivety. He sees the world through Rose colored glasses. I hope it doesn't get him hurt.

I honestly believe we need to get back to letting kids be kids. Too often I see kids being involved in adult conversation and situations and it is wrong. Plenty of time for them to be adults. Why push it?

Ben you don't get to speak to me in any fashion until you take the remedial class in logic and history.  Because you my friend, are one dangerously delusional individual.  And i just don't have the time to entertain your complete lack of ability to connect history, logic and understanding of various ideological constructs.  Didn't you say you were getting your pilots license?  Darwin comes to mind. :news:

I disagree and think my discourse on here proves that. I think unreasonable pride in all things your country is idiotic. Pride is like all things in moderation.

Pride with reason is fine. Pride derived from blind patriotism is dangerous

I also concur with Ben's comment.

Like many parents on here I rarely if ever discuss politics with the kids or even while they are around.  I answer questions if asked and merely listen to their stories about conversations they have.   Many parents wish for independent, successful, free-thinking kids and there are multiple ways to achieve that.  I'm sure many kids on here attend church but ours do not.  My only goal in regards to religion is to have enough conversations so they are aware religious differences exist.  So long as they are not naive in the fiuture to fall for someone selling them religion I'll be satisfied.

boom.  Fuck now we're talking about what should be the proper level of pride in our country, at a time when Bentifas of the country have nothing good to say about it.  Priceless.
