Patriotism is what people want it to be from a personal standpoint IMO. If more people would stop and put themselves in the other persons position, really try and understand it, we wouldn't have half the issues we're dealing with now. Instead we have to project our own values and opinions on others. If someone wants to kneel in protest let them kneel. Do I like it? No. Would I do it myself? No, but that doesn't matter. I'm not going to tell someone they can't do it. Does that make them unpatriotic? Not IMO. If I stand for the anthem, am I being a "bootlicker" for what I believe as being patriotic? Again not IMO. Every war we have been in Since the war of 1812 has not been about defending our country and had been promoted by the controlled media. We had no reason to be in WW1 and arguably WW2. The Korean war, Vietnam war, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Iraq and every other conflict has been falsely promoted by our govt thru the media to gain public support.
