Petitioning Quicken Loans Arena

Allow Open Carry of Firearms at the Quicken Loans Arena during the RNC Convention in July.

RECOGNIZE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO OPEN CARRY FIREARMS AT THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION AT THE QUICKEN LOANS ARENA IN JULY 2016

SUMMARY: In July of 2016, the GOP will host its convention at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Though Ohio is an open carry state, which allows for the open carry of guns, the hosting venue—the Quicken Loans Arena—strictly forbids the carry of firearms on their premises.

https://www.change.org/p/quicken-loans-arena-allow-open-carry-of-firearms-at-the-quicken-loans-arena-during-the-rnc-convention-in-july-2

According to the policy on their website, "firearms and other weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on the premises of Quicken Loans Arena."

This is a direct affront to the Second Amendment and puts all attendees at risk. As the National Rifle Association has made clear, "gun-free zones" such as the Quicken Loans Arena are "the worst and most dangerous of all lies." The NRA, our leading defender of gun rights, has also correctly pointed out that "gun free zones... tell every insane killer in America... (the) safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk." (March 4, 2016 and Dec. 21, 2012)

Cleveland, Ohio is consistently ranked as one of the top ten most dangerous cities in America. By forcing attendees to leave their firearms at home, the RNC and Quicken Loans Arena are putting tens of thousands of people at risk both inside and outside of the convention site.

This doesn't even begin to factor in the possibility of an ISIS terrorist attack on the arena during the convention. Without the right to protect themselves, those at the Quicken Loans Arena will be sitting ducks, utterly helpless against evil-doers, criminals or others who wish to threaten the American way of life.

All three remaining Republican candidates have spoken out on the issue and are unified in their opposition to Barack HUSSEIN Obama's "gun-free zones."

New Black Panther Party plans to bring guns to GOP convention, if law allows

Black Panthers leader says group will have guns around RNC

Members of the controversial "black power" group the New Black Panther Party plan to pack legal heat when they hold rallies in Cleveland in conjunction with next week's Republican convention if the law allows, the group's chairman said.

Leaders of the organization, which the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as a hate group, told Reuters that if Ohio's open-carry gun laws allow, its members will bring guns for self-defense. Cleveland police are preparing for mass demonstrations, and word that the New Black Panthers may be armed could complicate preparations.

"If it is an open state to carry, we will exercise our Second Amendment rights because there are other groups threatening to be there that are threatening to do harm to us," Hashim Nzinga, chairman of the New Black Panther Party, told Reuters.

Officials told Reuters it will be legal for protesters to carry registered weapons at demonstrations outside the convention under that state's "open carry" law, which allows civilians to carry guns in public.

In last week's sniper attack in which a lone gunman killed five Dallas police officers during a Black Lives Matter protest against police brutality, cops said they were initially confused as to where the gunfire was coming from because some demonstrators were legally carrying rifles.

The killer, Micah Johnson, was an Army veteran who, before he was blown up by a police robot, said he wanted to kill white people and white police officers. New Black Panther Party leader Quanell X said Johnson had worked with his Houston chapter until a few years ago, when he was allegedly dismissed for calling for violence.

about the first post..was done by a lib of course.

The Hyperationalist, the petition caught fire when it became a darling of talk radio and right-wing blogging. The petition, which calls the arena’s ban on weapons “a direct affront to the second amendment…[that] puts all attendees at risk” has surpassed 51,000 signatures and is racing toward its goal of 75,000.

But the identity of its anonymous progenitor has not been fully cracked. Until now. The petition is the brainchild of a Democratic activist and blogger named James P. Ryan, who claims to be satirizing rather than supporting the idea that Republicans should bring weapons into their nominating convention.

Guessing his identity has become a bit of a parlor game among right-wing chatters and the success of the petition has stimulated Mr. Ryan, who is guarded about his identity, to call several New York City PR firms to inquire about representing him.

I think it's great.  Who will the democrats defend?  Are they going to yell about the black panthers wanting open carry?   Normally democrats would be all concerned about it, but now, guys like mc are supporting it.  They are so confused.  Talk about sending mixed messages, it is no wonder this country is divided.
