Sounds as though Polaris is bringing more whupass this year...

“Check out the new purpose built 600 Patriot cross country engine with 8% more power, 3 stage electronic EVs, 4 injector setup like the boost, more stator power, smart hand warmers, ability to run 7s gauge, and more – very excited for these upgrades!”

Looks like poo doesn't need a 650 anymore.

Sweet! The 4 injector system worked like a dream on the Dragon 600. :lol2:

Why are they mentioning the Iron Dog when “no one cares about it”?

Polaris Unveils 2025 Race Snowmobiles, One With A New Engine

More power: Who doesn’t want that, especially in cross-country snowmobile racing?! Well that’s what Polaris is promising in a cryptic release of its 2025 600 Indy Cross Country race sled. It also unveiled a lesser-changed 2025 Polaris 600R snocross-focused race sled.

2025 Polaris race snowmobiles The 2025 Polaris 600R (left) and 600 Indy Cross-Country (right) were unveiled on August 21.

The actual press material from Polaris were rather empty – as you can see in the press release that we share below in its entirety. There is talk of a new engine that makes 8 percent more power, but no details on how it gained that power. An eblast sent viewers to a page featuring videos on the 2024 race sleds, but not much content on the 2025s. Polaris social media post about the race sleds directed viewers to a page where you can see who is on the race team but not a mention of the sleds.

We’re motorheads, folks – we want some real details!

However, after some poking around we did learn a bit more.

Specifically, the Hetteen Heritage race team (and with a name like that, you know they’re tied into the factory) posted this on their social media page:

“Check out the new purpose built 600 Patriot cross country engine with 8% more power, 3 stage electronic EVs, 4 injector setup like the boost, more stator power, smart hand warmers, ability to run 7s gauge, and more – very excited for these upgrades!”

I think it'll be the sled to beat this winter in Pro, Semi-Pro, and Sport.

Polaris has been building that sled to kick ass and take names.  They are there to win.

Did he run out of money?  The one tractor was re-sold this week due to a non-paying bidder.

Yeah he found out I sent my snowmobile seat to get a custom cover put on and freaked out and cut me off. All bull shit aside Polaris has been chipping away at cat’s dominance at xc racing. They have a stacked team of riders that have been nipping at cat for the last couple years. Skidoo will be the wild card with Wes involved in it now. Zach will still be the one to beat if they got their shit together with the sled.

they've made changes every season since going to the Matryx chassis, the mill upgrades are surprisingly substantial.  look forward to some terrain racing results with Herf on the new rig.

The CFI-4 was plagued with mapping and run ability issues. Polaris couldn’t get it figured out and because they half ass copied Ski-doo’s SDI design but not the good parts due to the patent they shit canned it for CFI-2.

Yeah I'm curious to see if the Cat boys find some more speed on the Catalyst, for the lake races in particular.

If you actually had any riding buddies and rode sleds you’d know all about it. :news:

Some day!

Just listened to the latest Shoptalk Podcast episode (#48) and heard some interesting info. Many are aware the 2015 rules mandating consumer available 600s running 91 octane have been relaxed over the years as OEMs struggled with build quantities. But, apparently when Cor took over the USXC program the fueling rules defaulted to an ISR standard which allows basically any commercially available fuel, NOT the 91 octane previously mandated by USXC.

While none of the guys pointed fingers at anyone, they did say there was a smell of race fuel in the air at the 2 races last year. We also know there were some exceptionally fast sleds on the ice.  It makes you wonder if there were teams out there running high octane fuel to get those big numbers in the stock class (currently a perfectly legal loophole).

The guys mused on how that effects the sport going forward, specifically the cost to be competitive.

Basically crybaby Cat guys complaining because they have zero gearing options for the Craplyist.

I don't know the other rules, is EFI tuning allowed?

Race fuel is commercially available so I wouldn't even call using it a loophole that's just well within the rules.  There are plenty of race fuels available that can significantly increase power even on a stock pump gas engine.  The fuels just have more energy and more oxygen.  If they are allowed and any of these big $ teams want to win, they'd be bad at what they're doing to not use it.
