  • Once the Ash start going they go fast.  Oak wilt is a little slower and hoping to stop it with this little project.   Bug spray by the can depending on when I go out there…

Dandelions were thick here early and actually a few popping out again now.

it's been an absolute invasion here and in the yoop.  lotta Terro traps, Ortho home defense and foaming spray.  accustomed to the battle being in the woods on both properties but seems as though I'm in a state of constant war this summer.  have some high end Bayer granules and sweet stuff but it's almost as though they're immune to it.

Same here.  I'm not a lawn nazi, but I do spray for dandelions in the spring and put fertilizer down early in the season.  Beyond that, it's mow as needed (every 5 days it seems like lately).  I have a several areas that have turned into shit, with patchy grass and weeds but IDGAF and will just continue to mow over it.

I went all Hitler on my yard and has mass genocide on all grass.  No longer have a lawn mower.  Best thing ever.

I do make up for it with blower & chainsaw time though.  With more than 300 trees there is always fun to be had.  30 Ash trees however was NOT fun.

I always joked with my wife that we should just concrete and astro turf the lawn (if money weren't an object!).  Thankfully my neighborhood doesn't really consist of much for lawn nazis, but we do have a few where I look at the amount of time spent & I think to myself ... WTF!?!  Ash trees ... ugh, don't even get me started.  I lost 3 of them last year due to that fucking Ash Borer shit.

3?  I lost 31 in the past year.  Paid to have 30 removed, but just see that my last one is fucked too.  That shit is almost as bad as the democrats, what a fucking disease.

The blackflies only lasted a few days and the skitters haven't been too bad yet. There's plenty of ants and it's been crazy with them. This is our beautiful lawn lol. The septic system has to have grass (code) and the rest of our property will all be gravel with a couple rock gardens. We've been lucky that only 2-3 weeds have popped thru the gravel in 3 years sofar

I should rephrase this, I do get small knats in the Spring and some bumble bees in the Lilac flowers, but almost zero Mosquitos due mostly do the the Type of Bug Zapper we have. Have never sprayed any chemicals.

It was nuts.  Pre-winter last year all my trees looked healthy and there was only one in the whole neighborhood showing any borer signs and then 6 months later 30 of mine were dead.

Yup - had to take down 4 monster Ash trees about 5 years ago, all in the middle of nowhere.  30” bar wouldn’t fit two without back cutting.  Bugs came through and the bark started falling off within a year.

You can see the progression of the Oak Wilt in the background, that’s been about 10 years in the making.  I just let it get a little further into the property to justify taking them all down for a shop.

Again wrong.  You are really effective at being a loser.

If Oak wilt hits my yard I may need grass again.  Have mostly Oak & Maple left.  I really don't want grass, I much prefer the tranquility of the woods.

Red or white?  White Oaks are unaffected by the oak wilt.
