Rough year so what's your 2025 plan for a sled?

I'm my worst enemy and snowchecked a 2025 Polaris XCR 850.  Being a 9R is $3099.00 more than a 850 comes with a 2 year warranty -vs- 4 year on a 850 just couldn't justify a 9R.

If your looking to update lots a deals on in stock 2024 sled.

Congrats on the new ride for 2025, Doug!  I'm going to be holding onto mine since it's still new and I'd take a bath trying to get rid of it & into a new one.  That said, if I were going new it'd likely be a 9R Assault as I got a pretty good price on that sled.  Something tells me, snowcheck for '25 is gonna be a bit on the slim side for the manufacturers and deals on 2024's are going to be hard to pass up.

Talked to my dealer for a while and they sold 5 snowcheck sleds so far and have about 30 builds to price out.  Couple guys bought a left over 24's as there's also some dealer incentives to move them.

As for the subject of the price and warranty difference between the 850 and 9R there was lot of dealers not happy and questioning way such a big difference.  Never got a good answer that he heard.  I could see maybe $1200.00 difference but not $3099.00.

My dealer also pointed out that the Boost also takes a big hit on trade in and figures the 9R will be the same.  A customer that wants to buy a Boost or now 9R now will almost always buy a new one vs a 1 or 2 year old Boost.  Selling a used boost is a hard sell.

New sled is dependent on location of new home....Went looking yesterday...local Doo ) Lynx Dealership  - dealer sent everything back to BRP....

Comments from BRP rep four more dealers in his area sent their inventory back + dropped the sled 🛷 line 😞....

Going to keep the sleds I have.  Trying to decide if we need a 3rd.  If the deal is right, we do.

There's some good deals on 2024's right now.  Most included a 2 year warranty which is all you get on a 9R or Boost for this year's snowcheck

Going to keep mine. The way cat keeps fucking around and find out is not good. They launched the 858 at haydays and I couldn’t buy it and the catalyst was sold out and you couldn’t find one pisses me off. I found a catalyst and it was easy

Got an 858 coming... but having 2nd thoughts. Regardless, I'll keep the current sled.

I think I'm good with my 7 snowmobiles

Guy in our riding group has a 858 coming curious to see how the sled works out.  Hoping it's a good sled to push some competition on Polaris and Ski-Doo.

Same with our group of work guys who ride together a few times a year.  One of them has an 858 coming, too ... I'm anxious to swap with him and see how it goes.

I just hope it doesn't turn out to be an expensive pile of sh*t. I've been burned on first year sleds before and am a little nervous. Otherwise I'm still riding a '20 pro cross, which has been a good sled, but really over it. Plan to keep it as a spare for friends/kids, but still leery of a first year motor.

Seeing lots of slightly used 850 Polaris that are tempting and a lot cheaper.

Hope the 858 is great.  Looking forward to getting some saddle time on one this winter.  Keeping my 850XCR though for this winter.

Last few months of warranty on this one

If the 850 dumps this 800 has 10 miles on a new motor

I’ve run out of things to “maintain”, even the kids 2016 800 got all four shocks rebuilt.

I've had some great first year sleds and some not so great first year sleds.  89 Indy 500 and 1993 XLT come to mind as good first year sleds.  1996 XCR 600 triple triple and 2006 Fusion 700 come to mind as a not so good first year sled.

Got one of these coming. Hoping to receive it in October in order to put some personal touches on and check it over.

Dad ended up getting a 2024 assault 850 Sno check someone never picked up from the local dealer. I am pretty sure I am going to put ohlins on my catalyst to make the suspension work. I talked to them and they will have options available at haydays. Doing the exchange rates I can put a full set of ohlins on this hog and still be less money into it than buying the rxc

You have the 129 correct? Let me know what you find out. I ordered the ATAC, but would def consider putting a better front arm shock on vs the standard shock. It really bugs me that cat didn't at least put an AC5S up there even if it doesn't get modulated by the ATAC system.

I do. 129 ifp model. I have been running fox aftermarket and rr speced sleds for the last 13 years and that basic ifp suspension is not very good unless you putt around at 25 mph. I also contacted monster performance and they said they will have options for catalysts ohlins this fall.

IMO the new 5 setting shocks should have been the base model and not built the ifp models at all

Country cat has the front arm AC5S available for around $320 or the Fox QS3 R 1.5 for $810. Wonder where those Ohlins will come in price-wise.

All 4 are like 2800 bucks doing the exchange rate using the Swedish pricing I could find on line. The 4 rxc shocks from country cat are like 3200. I think they will have some competitive pricing because they are serious about the us after market all of sudden. This will be the first time they have ever attended haydays as manufacturer.

The time is now to find some pretty good deals - buddy just picked up a 2023 Boost VR1 137” with the 7s display for 17,500 out the door WITH a 4 year warranty over the weekend.

No AC Sx so, I guess I'll rattle around in my Doo SX.  My hope is to break 5 hours this year!
