Charging network around me. I could ride it for an hour, charge it for lunch and ride the rest of the day with no issues if they truly get 100 miles to full charge

shit, the Catalyst can't even go 100 miles on a full tank of fuel...

but they can run with 800's and 850's, and with the right clutching beat them in a drag race, right@Not greg b?    :roflcrying:

the lesters show a situation that typically could only be staged. they pull up for lunch, no one else around, chargers available. fast forward to reality. you pull up and there are 100 sleds. almost an hour each to charge . ok, i'll go in and eat. how do you tend to your sled and spot in line to charge if you are not out there? the  line moves and your sled sits, they go around you. or the sled is charged , and the owner is at the bar drinking and living it up. now someone has to go get them or unplug it and drag it out of the way. if you can just unplug it. real world use that most of us need will be difficult in areas that see traffic. when they die and need to be towed it will resemble towing out an rx1. i remember an apex having issues , and were scared to go in the woods as none of us felt we could pull it without destroying our own shit. we went for the truck instead

there lies the problem... how many bars or restaurants are going to have L3 let alone L2 charging?  from one of my initial posts... a recharge from 50% on L2 is going to take some time.  (times shown, I'm assuming are from a near dead battery)

Level 1 charging (residential)

~14 hrs

Level 2 charging (residential & commercial)

~3.5 hrs

Level 3 charging

~40 mins

maybe they should start a Snocross team, as they only have to race for about 15 minutes-ish in the Pro Class

They stated it.

what they stated in 'range mode' (440 power level) if my memory is correct was 100KMS, or about 62 miles, so it's likely he just confused miles from kilometers.

so if one rode 50-60 miles, stopped for lunch and/or beverages, charged and either went back to your departure point or another charging station (repeat lunch/bevs, few rounds of bowling or take in a movie) and go another 50-60 miles.

clearly electric sleds wouldn't be convenient or actually cheap to utilize, especially when you start adding in local economy stimulating pit stops but it is feasible one could go riding from daybreak until bar close as long as there's charging stations available.

frankly, electric sleds/bikes/atv's/etc are just a novelty at this point and most serious riders aren't even going to give them an opportunity.   convenience/inconvenience is the biggest difference between electric vehicles and an electric drill.   fat/lazy/ignorant Americans aren't patient enough for mass adaptation of EV's imo.

I don’t see it, either.  Of course, we’d still be living in caves if it weren’t for people doing things that other people thought was impossible.  But, the existing snowmobile model just doesn’t fit with electric sleds.  Fleet rentals and ski hills, sure.  Mainstream snowmobiling, not so much.

Same thing with cars.  My wife’s biggest concern is how charging stations are basically a target rich environment for car jackets and attackers.

I could ride state park to casino to state park to grocery store around here and not worry about one ever going dead. That’s what majority of the snowmobile riders around here do. I was actually surprised how many places you could actually charge an ev around here. Plus the charging stations are always empty

I can see these being very popular with Tesla owners and women who used to be men.

Tiaga is better. It’s like Tesla because it starts with T. Skidoo is shit because it starts with s and ends with doo

very very different sleds really.

they did a good job explaining that these (BRP) aren't for actual snowmobilers.
