I looked into it. The EcoBoost generates enough heat to literally affix the studs into the head. They often require drilling out. There’s kits available that are designed specifically for that application. I thought about taking on the job until I dug into it. I don’t need that type of headache.

YouTube University..:lol::wtf:

After my Ram needed the manifolds done, I bought stainless shorties with arp bolts...I hope I solved the issue, but only time will tell.

Nice.

I sold the Dodge to my stepson last fall. He can deal with it.

But for work trucks I own 3 Ford 6.2's and 2 of them need manifolds right now.

old one had 70k on it but it was my plow truck for my business so you can imagine what it looks like underneath, retired from snowplowing so i shouldn't have the corrosion issues with this one, it was getting rough around the edges, this one will never see a plow, goy my tractor and ranger for that

Congrats on retiring from plowing. Last winter was my last as well.

I'm wondering what its going to feel like when the snow comes and I don't have to be up at 2am. I'll probably still be up checking radar on TWN.....lol

Agreed, I've owned several Fords, a Dodge and a Chev and had to fix exhaust manifolds on them all. Why haven't the manu's dealt with this? Been going on for 20 years or more now.

They won't spend the money for cast stainless steel exhaust manifolds and the hardware to go along with it.

So is it worth pulling these studs every 40 k or so too keep em fresh?

Shit my Ram has just under 50k on it.  Still worth damn near close what I paid for it 3 years ago.  Maybe time to flush it, since the warranty is gone.  Other than a cooling fan clutch that was warrantied, its been flawless.  I don't work it very hard mind you.

that's why I went used, with extended warrenty

Same, bought mine with 6k on it for short money.  Timing worked out for me, it was just before prices went nuts on used, cuz new inventory was so lacking.
