Great local story

Recommended Posts

I dropped $6,500 at the Holiday Gas station in Hayward, must be almost 2 years ago now, I never knew I dropped that much, I picked up $2,300 that I saw lying on the floor, the $4,200 fell into some candy boxes, someone saw it and turned it in and I got it back, was all $100 bills, didn't realize I lost more till 2 days later. Lots more to the story.

I was at Sea world in December.  The family parked next to us was scrambling around trying to kids, strollers,  crap,  out of their car and get in park.  I hop out of rental and there is the guys big fat loaded wallet laying just under his van.  I ran him down in the parking lot.  He was absolutely stunned. I think he thought I was pulling a scam until he reached for his wallet and it wasn’t there.

She deserves it . When I find a $20 its a good day

If I found a stash I doubt id do the right thing tbh

I would always turn a stash in, finding a little cash blowing around I'd keep it..I found a wallet about 5-6 years ago, had $610 in it, turns out it belonged to a local (Mark) who lost it at the 4th. of July fireworks  at the bar down my road..he was happy I returned it as is doesn't have much to begin with. I refused a reward.

A guy a worked with found several $1,000 in Walworth County, I believe it was at least $5,000 but so long ago not sure of the amount... he turned it in, Cops said to place an ad in the local paper for 2 weeks about finding some money, if no one claimed it, it was his..he went on a vacation.

I picked up a wallet that was stuffed with cash at the store the other day. Handed it to the manager. I’m sure they’ll be back. Bad karma to stuff it and walk.

I seem to find a few bills every so often, the most I ever found lying around was a $50 bill in Paddock Lake Wi.

I found $31 outside the local restaurant 2 years ago, and later that day a $10 bill At L&M Fleet Supply in Hayward.

I dont know. I think the guilt when spending it would ruin the windfall.

I found one that had $243 in cash and a cutout for a police officers badge, the badge was missing. I called 911 and asked them if they could help me help the police officer who's wallet I just found. He lost it when he went into a store to get a few things for his boys before hockey practice. He offered me some money for finding the wallet, I told him he had 2 boys playing youth hockey he needs it more than me, I told him to pay it forward and help someone else down the line.... His police badge was at home so no one took it from his wallet.....

Its a good story.  I like it when people get what they deserve.  Good or bad.
