Dang South Dakota produces 120% of its electric needs from renewables.   Republicans love them some windmills and solar and hydro it appears

The political knives are still out when the topic turns to climate change, but it looks like the energy transition is going to happen anyways. A case in point is the “red” state of South Dakota, which has now amassed enough renewable energy to fulfill its own electricity needs, and then some.

Republicans supporting something that's profitable and may contribute to their party?

They stole that straight from the DNC playbook.

Think cotton.

Fossil fuel is renewable.

Just how much rare metals are there to support the climate grift.

Fools.

I don’t know…. Should probable pose that question to Kristi Noem and the republicans of South Dakota that have built a system to power the whole state and then some on Wind, Solar and Hydro with Wind being the largest source for their power.  120% of power needs is impressive.

Forcing entities to use renewables and having a state follow the laws requiring this.  Then claiming states are doing it no matter what party is in charge really is about the most dishonest and disingenuous argument I have ever heard.

so in theory what would it take for a state like Colorado to replicate what South Dakota has done?

Looks like 4 times what SD did…. But SD can keep building renewables like they are and can export to colorado as the grids are connected

I'm not fighting you here... but solutions to problems related to green energy are going to require practically, compromise and most importantly... common fuckin sense.
