A boat like that will never bee far enough from the coast to need such a book. Yachties typically don't venture too far offshore, takes too long to get to the bar.

It is pretty efficient until 2600 rpm then starts dumping a full barrels an hour but it is fun at 35 mph

I was just looking at consumption graphs for boats close to that displacement with qs3 Cummins and they are under 1gph each at 600rpm and the test boat was able to achieve almost 7knots at that speed. Not sure those diesels like to idle for extended durations but man you can get some great economy if you don’t have anywhere you need to be

diesels can usually beat the 10% rule of thumb but the hull has a lot to do with it. most of the semi displacement hulls like yours have worked out for a good cruise so that range is acceptable.
