“Those who blame NATO aren’t wrong....they’re stupid.”

I didn't know this but Russia has a huge shopping mall culture. Kinda weird, but it's true. The malls have been hollowed out by the sanctions and western companies pulling. End result is Russia's service industry has taken a big hit as in unemployment from shops closing.

NATO's entire existence is for war with Russia. Shall we compare how many places on the earth NATO has staged weapons pointed at Russia compared to countries Russia has militarized against NATO countries? And the Monroe Doctrine doesnt even allow Russia to occupy ANY space for any reason in the western hemisphere. Or else... war.

Oh horse shit.  Come on guy.  Lets not forget who the aggressors are.  If Russia was so fucking noble, they could form their own alliance to protect their members sovereign borders.  Did you guys forget WWII and why NATO was formed?

Name one thing not true about what he said :news:

Why was NATO founded?

The North Atlantic Alliance was founded in the aftermath of the Second World War. Its purpose was to secure peace in Europe, to promote cooperation among its members and to guard their freedom – all of this in the context of countering the threat posed at the time by the Soviet Union. The Alliance’s founding treaty was signed in Washington in 1949 by a dozen European and North American countries. It commits the Allies to democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law, as well as to peaceful resolution of disputes. Importantly, the treaty sets out the idea of collective defence, meaning that an attack against one Ally is considered as an attack against all Allies. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization – or NATO – ensures that the security of its European member countries is inseparably linked to that of its North American member countries. The Organization also provides a unique forum for dialogue and cooperation across the Atlantic.

Claiming NATO isn't a provocateur to Russia is like claiming the US isn't one in the Middle East.

JFK and the US flipped out when Russia placed weapons in Cuba.   How close does NATO have offensive weapons to Russia?

Oh really?  I think some of you guys struggle with history and rely on your googles, throw in a healthy dose of cynicism, and next thing you know you're blaming NATO for Russia invading a sovereign country and committing war crimes.

It's purpose is is to defend itself against Russian aggression. Can you imagine a situation in which NATO invades Russia and annexes its territory? Can you imagine a situation when Russia invades other countries. Oh wait....

wrongo.   Its to provide defense against the Soviet Union, which to this day still has an expansionist agenda.

Seriously, tell us all about your educational credentials as it relates to the history of WWII.   Come on, you need to drop that "I'm here to educate all you rubes" trope, you do it often.

we spent almost 50 years staring at each other with both our triggers on the nukes.  call it defense but it's still all about war.

Doesn't change the fact that its mere existence creates tension and greatly contributed to the money spent during the cold war.  There are lots of reports that NATO promised Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union there would be no further eastward expansion then added 14 more countries that direction.   If that's not a provocation then what is.  SMH.

Funny how when we or NATO builds up the military its for "defense" but when anyone else does its offense.
