*****Official F7BENS NASCAR 2023 Thread*****

Looking at the two "big" shows here in the north central part of the country and just shake my head.

One is a "3 day 1 pay" show with 10 classes, the other is a "4 day 1 pay show".

The car counts just aren't there to support their formats.  Doesn't sound like the fan count is there for either one to boot.

Found out some info on the Chicago race.  The weekend was supposed to include a IMSA race.  IMSA has now pulled out so it will be a lone Nascar Cut race.  If you look at IMSA's 2023 schedul it has been pull off the schedule.  The suppose Nascar vehicles including us will meet in a designated area and have a police escort into the area.  Team transporters will also be escorted in.  There will also be police escorts when we leave.

I know this "upper groove/lower groove better racing" thing is popular but I miss the single lane on the bottom, use your bumper type racing. I used to plan my days around Bristol races.

I would think the power steering and rack would be a sole source for all these cars regardless of make.  That and it seems the Fords are to only one have front tire issues. It will be interesting who comes out this still in the chase.

Harvick was in postion to go for the win until that pit road tire screw up…damn.

Yep, that was a shitty time to F up.

Buescher gets his first legit win. And Keselowski was set to win this until he blew the tire.

Good to see Rousch back in the game.

I was pulling for Brad, too. At least one of his cars went to victory lane

I was watching Greg Biffle this morning on the Dale Jr. Download and he had some good insight as to why Rousch got left behind after the days of having 5 cars in The Chase.

I watched that on YouTube. It was interesting to hear some of the back stories from Biffle.

Those were the days eh!!

I went to Michigan for the first time in '75. I was 10 years old. In those days they had a "meet the drivers" event where all the cars were on pit road and the drivers stood by their cars. I met Richard Petty and he signed a picture I had of him (long gone). The parking lot was gravel and it poured down rain. I don't remember watching the race.

The last year Nascar was in Milwaukee was 2009 when it rained so much Thursday night it actually flooded the tunnel on the front stretch and it had to be pumped out.  The reason Nascar pulled out is the promotor at the time didn't fully pay Nascar
