Irresponsible media

but I can’t figure out a fix besides educating your kids about it

Good one...and accurate.  The amount of people voluntarily entering their echo chambered, group think tanks agreeing with their MSM of choice is just higher now than it ever has been.  In other words, voluntary and deliberate intellectual dishonesty is at astoundingly high levels.

People need to be skeptical of things they read and hear.

This idea that we're somehow going to get a "non-biased media" is a bullshit utopia.

Yep however your first statement will never happen either.   I'm honestly beginning to think that political ideology is only part environmental and much of it is how a person is born.  I mean if its reasonable to think we are born liking pussy or dick is it not reasonable to think you are born agreeing with a particular political ideology?  Of course environmental factors can still strengthen or change those views but peoples fascination or love for govt control even with the likes of fascism or communism is hard to explain just on how they grew up or have lived.   People throughout history have lived poorly under burdensome authoritarian rule like in China, Cuba, Venezuela or the old USSR and they love it.   Makes no fucking sense.

But they cover that base by leading people to believe that if you question the narrative you’re a conspiracy theorist

Completely agree.

I read a story about how the older generation in eastern Europe has a much stronger connection to the USSR than the other generations. Decades of living under the system and nostalgia will do some weird stuff to a person.

Because people just traded god for government. Many still want to be ruled and controlled, just by a different entity.

one very strange phenomenon I have  recently encountered is how so called anti fascists absolutely hate people that don’t follow covid rules.  So absolutely bizarre

Controlling information has always been a way of controlling people.  The church made it's largest gains employing the "rejection of reason" and enlisting all they could to enforce it.  It's happening again but, manifesting it this time is the world order governments.

Exactly.  This is how the mass media controls their own narratives and employs millions of their ignorant minions to enforce it.  However, that's not to say that some of these "sources" of so called conspiracy don't make them sound silly by just going overboard.

That's because of the historical media's and political left's deception of what part of the political ideology chart fascism is really on.   Fascism is NOT far right.  It's really one of the biggest lies the world has ever swallowed.

Aside from the purely philosophical contradictions that arise when evaluating Gentile’s works with the ideas and policies supported by the political right, practical inconsistencies also exist. In The Doctrine of Fascism, often attributed to Mussolini (but ghostwritten in large part by Gentile), fascism is described as a system in which “everything is in the State, and nothing human or spiritual exists, much less has value, outside the State. In this sense Fascism is totalitarian ….” This is not only inconsistent with the traditional values of the political right but entirely antithetical to some of the most deeply-rooted convictions held by conservatives, such as the idea that individualism ought to be encouraged, not dispelled, as is the case in Gentile’s fascism.

I've always been amazed by this.  If you look at it, it's anything but right....in fact, it literally mirrors the far left and their movements.

The political spectrum is more of a horseshoe.  IMO the main difference between communism and fascism is a different enemy.  Both end up in totalitarianism.

Fascism was literally invented by a staunch,  multi generational socialist

No. Maybe the world we live in hasn’t changed just the fast tech. Think about it 40 years ago the news was at 6 pm and maybe you got one or two daily papers and that was your media. Now I knew Karen’s back then it’s just that no one videoed them in their full glory and we didn’t have instant social media to share them on and get all pissy and angry. Same with racial issues, same with politics.

Hate and racism was always there behind the scenes but instant social media spreads it faster like a cancer. Bob in east jockstrap finds Bubba in west hockey puck share the same hate....that didn’t happen 35 to 40 years ago.

shut it off for a day and you will either miss it cause your a fuckin addict or you don’t give a fuck.

You're absolutely right, but the crux of it is people not being able to see that distinction.

They think because they never saw it before, that it never happened or it happened much less.

We all have a bias towards ourselves, the time we live in, etc. We think "well, it's different this time!" or some other justification we tell ourselves. So to keep our biases in check we have to remind ourselves that as a species we are literally wired to remember the good stuff from the past and our youth, not the bad stuff. We view it thru rose colored glasses.

We also have to understand that "news" is big business. They want to keep you glued in that chair and telling you that the outside world is awesome and you should turn off the TV and go do that doesn't make them money.

It'd be an interesting discussion....if only we had some members here with brains to support the idea that fascism is indeed an evil of the right.  I mean, MC would be as funny as he tried to revive old "knock knock" and "why did the chicken cross the road?" jokes and Spinner would provide an entertaining narrative shifting and deflection ride but...not much to really to absorb from an intellectual stimulation standpoint.

You people do realize the left/govt is paying media outlets on how and if to run stories?  Fox could very well be paid by the right as well.   Not that they need to because in general someone who takes that career paths always leans left.  This goes back to my "genetic" argument of ideology.

You think news organizations buried the stories on things like Jeffrey Epstein for years on ideology alone?

I mean look no further than NPR.

Today, its the MSM spreading hate 100% where very little actually exists.

Get a clue.
