We had a family political discussion initiated by my son last night which resulted in her crying, my son bragging that he owns here emotions and my wife shaking her head. She got into "recognizing" her white privilege and that didn't go over well with my son. Social status IMO is more the privilege with middle class kids regardless of race having huge advantages over urban(primarily black) or rural poor(primarily white) TBH i don't care if they lean left or right but be able to explain your position and why you believe it. Conversations surrounded family, growing my parents and our business' and the value of ethics and hard work. I chose, later in life, to embrace those values versus the "other" choice.
