I find this odd.   Single day go from over 4590 to 1433.  :news:

I mean its great news but something seems amiss.    Something is telling me this is going to go away quicker than it came on.

Monday marked the lowest number of coronavirus-related fatalities in the U.S. in two weeks, just days after the number of deaths had spiked to 4,591 in a single day. According to Johns Hopkins University, the U.S. lost 1,433 people to coronavirus on April 20, adding to the overall death toll of 42,364.

According to the data, nearly 93 percent of all U.S. deaths from the pandemic have occurred in the past three weeks, 44 percent of which have occurred over the last seven days. But after several sharp spikes last week, the number seems to be slowing, with the data reflecting an average of 600 less deaths than previous days.

Hopefully it does. Illinois is getting opened up next week, probably with restrictions but alot of places are not opening up. We are starting summer critical projects (always start in June) now. This will be a really good test if cases start to spike again because of increased activity.

Wha? All I hear every day on my drive in is about more big companies lining up for bail outs. And small businesses got fucked out of PPP because big corps and hedgge funds snatched it up early. Who is milking what here?

Not sure any company asked for this to be handled in the manner it has.   Big or small.

CV will go out just as fast as it came in. Just like  in almost every other country on the road to recovery.

Then something's amiss if it does.

The spike had to do with a change in configuring deaths in New York.

New York began a shift in what type of deaths could be recorded as covid 19 related. That resulted in an accumulated spike in numbers. I thought that you were keeping up with this. Guess not

New York had a sudden increase when they altered circumstances as to what could represent a covid 19 related death. That was the reason for the spike. I thought everyone knew that.

No I'm not.   When did they add those 3700 deaths?   To one day, to one week or to the day they passed away?   Those deaths go back to early March.

There is a difference between total deaths and daily.   Did they even add them to the daily count or just to the total?

The deaths were tallied higher over a several day period. Because covid19 tests were being reserved for the living, those that had been showing the symptoms of the disease could be counted as covid19 related without a test provided the treating physician thought it was so.

So even if they died in March or early April they counted them in the recent daily counts?   Got a link to that?

Care to point out which days recently those 3700 were specifically added to?
