Beliefs are certainly not faith. Everyone has beliefs, and we can become convinced of those beliefs, for good and bad reasons. I try to minimize my beliefs for bad reasons, or unreasonable paths. The middle boy is now at the place where he will be questioning Santa being a real entity, and when he does he will be told the truth as well. I remember reading someone told his kids there was no Santa then they didn't do Christmas..which is fine but pretty crude

Frankly I don't care about you caring or not... Neal

Your home and life is seemingly a place where hope, dreams, aspirations and brief enjoyment of the suspension of disbelief have no place. Certainly, any faith in anything is quickly questioned and squashed. The world is tough and you feel your children and the ones around you must be thrust into the real possibilities of a harsh future as soon as you can.....for the bizarre and selfish sake of your own bitterness in life that was no doubt started in your childhood by your parents. You hide behind some false intellect to somehow deny this and try to project some type of intellectual elitism over others thinking you are some type of “realist” with advanced reasoning abilities. Best to luck to you....and your children.

Best to luck to you....and your children. Hope, dreams, and aspirations are not faith. They are found in our world because they happen and apply. We can see hope realized, dreams fulfilled, and aspirations attained. The person is responsible for that, not some mystical being. Suspension of disbelief serves no purpose, we can realize our disbelief and the reasoning for it. Futures are not relegated to harshness. Many wonderful opportunities come to us, hard work and reason put forth those opportunities. I'm not bitter at all, I celebrate being alive and life in general. I had a very good childhood and get along exceedingly well with my parents, who I interact with and work with daily. I have never promoted myself as an intellectual elitist. Anyone can attain the knowledge I have. There isn't a secret to doing so, just a motivation to understand the world around myself. If you call that false intellect then so be it, I can't live your life for you, but it sure makes it sound like you are the bitter one...
