Anyone who does, does so without demonstrable evidence.

kinda like those who believe with absolute certainty that the big bang created the universe.

Well the big bang didn't create the universe, it's the label of the model we use to describe the early moments of the universe.

We also have demonstrable evidence that supports the big bang model, uniformity, background radiation, observation of expansion, ect.  Those items are demonstrable, where as uncorroborated stories from a book are not so much.

they are part of an accepted theory, nothing more.

Bingo.  Not sure where the disconnect here is but, it seems that other’s die hard, unwavering beliefs and accepted theories within their peer group seem to be just plain wrong!

Scientific and religious theories can intersect.  This is fact.  Anybody that doesn’t think so knows nothing about either.

Science is never settled, this is a crude misnomer that shows ignorance of how science operates.

Exactly what more do you expect them to be?

A theory is a model of reality that explains the facts it contains.  What higher graduation point do you propose for these evidences to get to?

Neal

all that can be shown is that a big bang occurred. it's role in shaping the universe, or solar system, is still widely unknown. But the science community in their infinite arrogance, which has repeatedly shown itself throughout history, have decided the facts show that  this was the beginning. They do not.

The “Big Bang theory”, while a widely peer reviewed, accepted and a reasonable theory, is still just that.

Trying to enforce that theory with some idiotic statement about atoms in a laboratory or making a planet using a Bunsen burner is just fucking retarded.  I mean, just plain idiotic.

Wut?  A theory is a group of ideas that are designed to try and explain the principle of a concept.  While it certainly contains “models of reality” and “facts” and presents a valid explanation, many are still just theoretical.  Many large scale theories (stars, solar systems, black holes, ToolKits, etc) aren’t actually considered scientific law because they cannot be accurately recreated and observed to enforce their full theory.

Scientific laws can be experimented and observed (atoms, gravity, time and space, etc).
