Fucking PFAS

Recommended Posts

The federal report explains how officials would perform nozzle checks on the tanks, a process that involved discharging the foam directly into surface waters.

“Fire truck tanks were washed out into Lake Margrethe as regular practice during routine maintenance. The frequency and quantity of tank washout is not known. Since AFFF was regularly used as ‘wet water’ in truck tanks during the 1970s and 1980s, PFAS may have been directly washed into the lake,” the report states.

Military personnel even used the foam for dust suppression, spraying it onto unpaved roads, most often along West Lewiston Grade Road during two decades of summer training activities, according to the report.

Rothe said nobody in the military or civilian fire departments knew the foam was toxic during that time, and its use for dust control around Grayling likely was meant to “use up” chemicals near the end of their shelf life.

What a collection of absolute dumbfucks running the military.

"Just wash the shit we use to extinguish petroleum fires into the lake boys, it'll be fine"

Watch the cancer cases around that area. Guaranteed it will go up.

What levels are they at and at what levels are they a concern

It's unknown what levels become dangerous for humans, but people have been told not to eat the deer in areas where surface water has been contaminated or eat any fish from the contaminated waterways.

The national guard bombing range has the ausable river - a blue ribbon trout stream and the site of the annual canoe marathon and the source of millions of tourist dollars - running right through it.

They were really thinking ahead on that one. Stupid fucking assholes...

So it may not even be an issue?

No, it's definitely an issue, they're keeping a tight lid on what level constitutes a health issue and what doesn't. The county has given out free faucet filters with free replacement cartridges to anyone whose drinking water has any level of pfas contamination. At least they're trying to protect their residents, unlike the fucking brainless army and their wanna be soldiers coming up from Ohio to start fires, put them out with toxic shit, and dump the rest in the fucking lake. Or just on the ground in the middle of the ausable watershed.

Sure good they’re being proactive even in a potential non issue

You should guzzle some to prove that it's harmless.

You should guzzle a glass of manure to prove that it’s harmless

I'm not the one here trying to deflect for polluters.

Why don't you fuck off and go spray some Roundup on your GMO crops?

I can't say if it's better or worse. Would you rather your water be contaminated with fracking fluid or pfas?

Neither.  Fracking is fairly safe and doesn't typically expose drinking water to toxins unless it's done improperly or by smaller fly by night operations.
