Agree with it or not the banks paid back the loans. People should have gone to jail though. The fact that didn't happen is the biggest tragedy of all.

Its all relative of course but for a cattle, livestock and grain operation in bum fuck nowhere run only by a husband and wife, they are a good sized operation. 15 trucks on the road for many years. 

They could have easily expanded it more but they never had the desire to.

Lunch order guy and internet economics/political know it all for 30 years would have been a good stable career path.
