Any of you fellas have a good idea to fix this?  The lawn vaccuum piece has worn out on the bottom and now it leaves clumps in the lawn. Come leaf season this wont do. Any ideas??

It’ll only make a whirling grinding noise for the first 120 seconds. And then occasionally there after.

I fix shit like this quite often, but I have welding/cutting equipment.

Options:

1. Order a new piece on-line

2. Order the piece from a local dealer

3. Cut a piece of sheet metal and use small sheet metal screws to screw it in. If the screws protrude too far, snip the ends off with cutting pliers. EASY PEASY.

I'll look tomorrow to see if we have any wear plates left from when we carried some other mfgs blower housings..

JD doesn't have a metal wear sleeve riveted in the bottom?? Entire piece is plastic?

We bought the tractor and blower used and this is the way it came. :dunno:

Obviously we did the damage. I'm surprised we were able to wear thru like that.

melt it together with a propane torch.

that's a good idea.  Screw it together to hold it tight and take em back out when it's all melted together around the outside.

I've heard of guys fixing plastic liquid holding tanks before with a process they call plastic weld but have no idea what it's about.

This looks just like the bottom of a boat after it falls off the trailer and slides along on the pavement.

I mean thats what I was told anyway.......:read:

Not so much as a scratch  :news:

I just accelerated from a stop sign and the boat did not.

Since when do we have a middle finger option for a reaction?

Next we'll have a godamned knife slitting a throat option as well I guess....

that would be tremendous, john and joel should get to work on that

@Kivalo, the wear plates I have are probably too big, at least 24". But if you know someone who works with metal this is what you want to do to try and fix your vacuum housing..

I do have a entire vacuum housing sitting here I could let go on the cheap. But you would have to come check it out, see if we could make it work for you. All steel, serviceable bearing..it's a stout piece..
