Got to give him some credit for taking some blame.   Now lets see what they do.

Why did the US sanction Venezuela into poverty and let the CIA sew turmoil and instability in their country for a decade or more?

Because they hate your freedoms. Next

moto will be here shortly to tell us he knew maduro was doing it wrong and he knows how to fix it.

How will we ever know if they were doing it right or wrong when the full might of US economic power was deployed against them?

Obviously the USA makes boogeyman out of countries like Venezuela unnecessarily but that doesn't change the fact that Socialism's track record is horrible.

Well the fact that the government is staunchly authoritarian makes them wrong right off the bat, even putting everything else aside.

I'm not defending or advocating. Just stating that the Venezualan collapse can hardly be laid at the feet of socialism. It's just another example of US imperialist hegemony abroad

No, some of the blame can absolutely be laid at the feet of Socialism.

We already agreed it wasnt socialism at all by definition. It was a corrupt authoritarian state. Did the workers own the means of production and the natural resources or did the authoritarian state?

Simply calling everything we don't like socialism is idiocy

Authoritarianism and Socialism aren't mutually exclusive. Not in the least bit.

In fact the track record shows that Authoritarianism is very likely to be implemented in a Socialist state.

Well when it goes down the same fucking way 9/10 times at some point Socialism has to be held responsible.

Give me an example of a socialist state that wasnt fully corrupt or destroyed by the US.

Venezuela is a poor fucking example. They had one main driver for their economy ......oil. The US rendered that worthless for them.

Ben, what does that tell you when there is not a single example of a Socialist nation that wasn't fully corrupt?

That's my point exactly.

Well what does it tell you when the corruption inside the US.....the pinnacle of capitalism.....far outweighs anything any socialist nation has ever experienced.

US corruption , greed and our intent to subvert the political process of any country on earth who doesn't bend to our will is the greatest example of corruption in history.

US hegemony is destroying progress....not furthering it

The track record of constitutional republics with a Capitalist system is unquestionably better than that of Authoritarian Socialist nations.

That tells me that clearly the former works better.

There is no better example of this than the Korean peninsula.

Totally disagree. US manipulation for the last 75 years has skewed any possible conclusions that could be drawn aside from..... "governments are universally corrupt regardless of the economic system they exist under"

Of course governments are universally corrupt. They generally become even more corrupt the more authoritarian they are.
