Zambroski
I think these old cars bring out the "a fool and his money are soon parted" crowd. i love the classics but let's face it, most of them were complete pieces of shit that needed an unbelievable amount of money and time to keep them running.....even when they were new! Still, I can appreciate a nicely restored (or preserved) classic muscle car. I still may own one. Always wanted a 1970 Chevelle SS. But I'm pretty sure I can find a decently restored one for under $40k. And that makes me wanna gag for a car that has a performance index of a moderate sports car today and let's face it, handles like a fucking wheelbarrow. A lot of these high end/high dollar cars are simply investments, somewhere to diversify ones money. A lot of these people, if you knew the real story, could care less about what they have or own, they are simply another investment "vehicle", if you will. Whether it be art, collector cards, antiques, or a myriad of other expensive, one of a kind, collectable, the bottom line is, they are somewhere for the 1% to put their money. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2016/11/19/209237032/mickey-mantle-1952-topps-card-sells-for-over-a-million-dollars http://www.invaluable.com/blog/specialists-speak-2016-trends-and-predictions-in-collecting/ Edited January 1, 2017 by irv

From what I have seen, these collectables follow the economy/stock market like they are one in the same, and like I mentioned earlier, most of these high end "investors" don't care if they own a million dollar car or a baseball card. They are nothing more than an investment for them. I have also heard, with the amount of Chinese/Japanese/foreign wealth coming over, this is a way for them to hide/launder their money. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye. Edited January 5, 2017 by irv
