  1. There is alot of people from Ont here buying up. Still reasonable prices down here .
  2. We have a couple neighbours that are harbouring fugitives lol. The one couple have a daughter ( that works) with a boyfriend and 2 little girls and 2 boxers living there and they're stuck looking after the girls and dogs all the time. The other couple have a daughter in her late 30"s living with them that we believe has been home schooled and never went to a school. The mother seems to be a wacko and rules the roost.
  3. The weather is beautiful here in Nova Scotia and out for a relaxing ride on the pontoon
  4. An old couple in their 80"s put their 4 year old house with 18 acres and 600ft waterfront up for sale. It was listed for $575K and took the 1st offer of $650K from a buyer in BC who only saw the listing online. There were another 9-10 viewings booked and all were cancelled and who knows how high it would've gone. It's slowed down a bit here in NS but still nuts in getting over asking.
  5. Prices are not bad compared to Ont. Friends sold in Ont for $1.3mil and bought a place on the lake here. There's one coming up for sale and waiting to see the listing price. It"ll make a great rental for spring to late fall and we can live in it during the winter.
  6. We are going to call our realtor and see what we can get for our place. If the #"s look good we will start looking to build on our lot in NS.
  7. We hadn't watched any episodes then binge watched it all. We going to bed at 3:00 lol. We will be home for the winter end of the month and can't wait for the new series.
  8. We might spend time in NS during the winter again so it wouldn't be too bad going to NB or stop in Que on the way down.
  9. The wife and I live north of Fenelon Falls and the trail runs behind our place. I'm not buying a permit this year and we'll go to the Hali Forest if we want to go for a ride. It has finally got discouraging waiting for snow, crappy trail conditions etc and with the Jan and Feb rains a short season. The wife said let's buy the pass and if it's the same we can pack it in. I said nah we can trailer to Que or NB if we continue next year.
  10. I'm somewhat tech challenged and the wife will help if I ask. She looks after the finances, cleans the house and uses the lawn mower and weed wacker. I'm not having any success yet in getting her to use the riding mower, leaf blower or any other gas powered equipment. She did tow the car hauler 1200 miles but wont drive the motorhome or boat as of yet. I'm working on it lol
  11. Wow! We heard there was alot of rain there. My buddy said the water was up over his dock. A few years ago the water level was up 10ft and almost at his house.
  12. We put the toon in the water on Sat and after a little cruise left it at a friends dock. I installed my dock cleats this morning and brought it to our dock. The weather is good show we should get 3-4 more weeks out of it
  13. We're still in shorts and t-shirts in Nova Scotia. We were out cruising in the pontoon yesterday and the water is still 70 deg.
  14. That's the side mount edition that folds away so you don't hit your shins
  15. This apparantly was in Edmonton according to somebody that posted on FB. You can't believe everything you read! It was $1,18
  16. Any slithering fkr appeared yesterday. It's a Hognose ( not poisonous) and apparently endangered. They can come and get it if they want it lol
  17. Thanks! The weather is still nice down east. We're home for almost 2 weeks then heading back down till the end of Oct. We're going to get a mkt evaluation for this area and possibly sell in the spring and buy or build on our lot down there.
  18. We can run into town from home and have designated routes ( on roads) that we have to follow with sxs"s and atvs can follow the trail to get into town. There are other communities that allow road use as well.
  19. We picked up our new pontoon today. We'll still get a few weeks use before we put it away.
  20. We bought a one acre lot with deeded access in Nova Scotia for fairly cheap as a recreational property. We partially cleared, got hydro installed, built a dock and if the building materials come back down we'll build. Cottages and homes are being snapped up pretty quick and it's mostly from people outside of the province that are getting big money for their places and surprised at how many are buying thru listings online.
