At the time Roe was decided, it was probably a fair number to determine viability. As medical technology progresses, the number gets lower, that will likely continue. I always struggled with a specific number. How can you say that you have a baby one day, but a 'lump of cells' the day before, or the day before that? There is no way to really determine, that will not get changed as tech advances. I once worked with a guy who felt that abortion was okay, even if fairly late stages, as long as both parents agreed. He said that since everyone agrees, it should be OK. I mentioned that there really is a third person who should have a say in the decision, and a am pretty sure that if you could ask if they wanted to be born, the answer would most always be yes. Ended that conversation fairly quickly. I really don't understand why we cannot make adoption a viable option. There are lots of families who cannot have their own, who would consider adopting an infant. Seems like it would be a decent option, but isn't socially acceptable to give a child up. But it's OK to abort? Doesn't make sense to me.

I think he got the boot because he said he did not use is connections to check around, and it turns out that he did. I would not have a problem with him checking around to help his brother (I would to that for mine), but he can't lie about it and not expect trouble.

I think the Hondas are the only ones that can really compare well to the Ariens. None of the rest seem to work as well. I had one from Sears for years that I thought was decent, until it died, and I got an Ariens. Night and day better. Bolens, Toro and the others don't seem to hold up well at all.

I have been there, we enjoyed it. I hope they can get back up and running. Will likely take at least a year, hopefully by then things will have settled down some.

I have a Solo - Bonfire. We don't use it as much as I thought we would but I like it. The secondary burn is a real thing, and once you get it going, it really is just about smokeless.

I can't be out of money, I still have checks left... Not that any of them know how to write a check these days.

Used to work with a guy you would think of as pretty 'tough'. Not afraid of anything, did all kinds of heavy work. Nurse came to the office to give flu shots. He wanted to skip it, we talked him into getting the shot. As soon as the nurse pulled the needle out, he did a face plant on the table, fainted. Some people REALLY don't like needles. Has nothing to do with hating to see blood, it's different.

Just saw a report on CNN. They said he was suffering from a blood disease (I think that is what they called it). Then got covid. Covid, or the vaccine had nothing to do with his death. May have brought it one a week or two sooner, but he may not have had long under any circumstances. Sorry to see him go, I think he was a stand up guy, who was good for the country. Stellar military service, and public service after that. Wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth my any measure.

I would think a trapper in the bush probably doesn't travel very far to check traps (could be wrong). If they are off grid, and have solar panels and an inverter, they could plug in at the cabin, and have no need for gas, an no worries about engine not starting.

My companies HQ is 200 miles from here. Never been there. Never met any coworkers in person. My 'remote office' is at home, will be for the foreseeable future. I am fine with this arrangement. Spend hours every day on Zoom calls, it works pretty well if you want it to. I work in consulting for software implementations, so there is nothing physical, this is a good model for me.

They just want to have something to say. Make a big deal when they go up, make a big deal when they go down. You can bet they will bring this to the top of the pile again around Christmas if the numbers tick up a bit after Thanksgiving, which is likely to happen. Otherwise, they will need to talk about the border, immigration, inflation, interest rates and all the other things they don't really want to mention. Got to fill the airtime with something, they don't sell advertising if no one is watching.

How do you explain that people got cancer 250 years ago. It isn't new, just understood and diagnosed better.

If I ran a ski resort, no problem. Would be just the thing for running around the resort, or pulling hurt skiers off the trail. Even for the fire departments in sledding towns, to use to get to accidents, and pull people back to an ambulance when needed. Lots of low speed torque, quiet, no smoke for the person being dragged behind. For trail riding, not yet. Would not say never, would be open to it when the time is right.

That is priced a bit high, but at least it looks clean and unmolested.

Problem with speed is aerodynamics. When speed doubles, air resistance goes up 4X. The difference in power required to hold at 75 compared to 50 mph is a lot more than you would think. Especially with something like a truck, compared to a smaller, more aerodynamic car.

It has been a challenge. They kids are doing well overall. There are days when I need to talk my wife off the ledge. She wants to call or text him, and give him some serious shit. Especially today. As much as I agree with her, I keep telling her that we need to back off. It only makes my daughters life harder, which the opposite of what we want. Its not always easy to take the long view, big picture attitude when she wants to go to his house and slash his tires (for starters...). We babysit when we can, spend some extra time with them to help out. I have fun with the grandkids, and try to make sure they have some good role models. Probably best thing we can do I think.

A dedicated two up will have a more comfortable seat, foot rests, and heated bars, generally more comfortable for the passenger. Depending on how big you both are, the suspension may squat too much, maybe stronger torsion springs will fix that. It's worth a try. if you both like riding that way, you could consider selling her sled for a two up that you can ride together when you want to. She can always ride it by herself some days. You can take the back seat off on most of them these days for one up riding.

For some people, getting vaxxed (or not) is based on what they call research. Good luck if you do your research on Facebook. I don't think most know how to really do the research, and could not understand the data anyway. For some, it is political, seems to me that making healthcare decisions based on politics isn't going to end well. Some people have a REAL fear of needles. They won't tell you this is the reason, especially some of the men. We once convinced a coworker to get a flu shot, he said he thought he didn't need it. The nurse was cleaning his arm getting him ready, he fainted before she even picked up the syringe. If the vax was available in a tablet, they would take it in a minute.

It's complicated. The girlfriend is new, and seems to be leading him around by the nose (or some other body part). She is starting to call the shots around stuff that has a direct effect on my grandkids. I agree that some compassion is needed, but I'm a little frustrated today. I also think that recklessness is going to get someone sick, and that some common sense and extra care might have been nice. My daughter has wound up a single mother, because he chose to end the marriage while she was 5 months pregnant with their second daughter (long story). So she has wound up in a single parent household. He takes the kids every other weekend, gives her a chance to do some chores, and get a little down time. She works full time, mostly remote. This weekend, she will have the kids when she didn't expect to, and have to quarantine. Can't send them to daycare, so has to work while keeping up with the kids. If the kids get very sick, it will become very hard for her. Probably didn't need to happen.

So much for all of the reports last year that kids don't get it, no need to be concerned... I'm not the alarmist type (My kids call me a 'low flagger'), but I believe that this is nothing to fool around with .
