with none blown up yet, its doing much better than the poo 840 did

being several years behind schedule, i'd hope not

kinda funny watching the mountin' bro's peg them non-stop and literally move at 7-19 mph tbh... :)

but this guy is YouTube content creator... so, whatever bYg b0aR d00dz!  :roflcrying:

edit;  that said, if not for the sales to mountin' br0z... the trail segment is likely f'ng toast as far as P&L.

At that altitude the 858 is prob making the hp of a 600, or less.
N/A engines lose 3% hp for every 1000' elevation

How dare him run the engine like on the first ride and not brake in the belt. Must have dad’s credit card. That’s what I call proper brake in.

What happened to all those 600 influencers claiming the 600 catalyst owns the factory turbo sleds in the mountains? They sure disappeared as soon as the sled was delivered to end users and the 858 was announced

I doubt anyone was saying that.  Maybe something like it's better in the trees, or handles better or as good or better at certain things and situations.  Rider skill plays a role in that too so a good rider on a 600 can actually dominate a lesser rider on a turbo.  It's not all just going straight up a hill.

I think alot of 800 riders were forced to ride a 600 and were just surprised at how capable and fun 600's are, including trail guys.

hardly anyone put actual trail miles on anything last year... unless of course you were in Alaska.  9_9

With very few out there, no doubt. Problem is will there be parts available for when they do.

cat left a lot of power on the table, it is going to be quite a contender in mod form, despite not being so bone stock

Maybe they corrected where they fucked up the mapping, badly

It sucks they have struggled to get a big bore to run right, right out of the box.  That flame throwing 800 they struggled with for a while.  Hopefully the 858 isn’t that bad

Na they were stupid conservative.

They run fine now (at elevation). Excited to see another 15hp. Should make up for the lazy backshift.

I'd hope that to be the case, but expect they do the opposite and over correct.  The other two sure did.

Of course Cat has something Doo & Poo didn't and that is more than 10 years of watching the competition stretch the bounds.

I remember having to take my 2010 800 Dragon back and forth for re-flashes. What a pain in the ass, don't miss those days

I got that solved by using parts cat sent in the 600 6 years ago
