Not this year ... too much other stuff going on & a buddy of mine that I'd normally go with can't make it work either.  I'll be interested to hear reports on how it goes this year

Last year was terrible. No one had anything and the new stuff vendors, were drop shipping for the same price as sitting on the couch. I got 2 pairs of googles and extra lenses from 100% for 60% off this weekend on their sale.

I told someone you are $100 deep by the time you walk in the gate there.

That can go a long way to buying what you actually want vs. what you might kind of want but not really but it is a "deal" at Haydays.

You are right. The thing that shocked me about haydays last year, it is turning into festival of side shows. The swap, racing and buying things won’t be a thing soon. It’s basically turning into a carnival. I think they are changing it to keep it alive. They moved the sled companies along the race last year. IMO with what is going on with the sled market I don’t see the sled manufacturers supporting it much longer. Yamaha is done. I can see textron pulling out. It has to cost them at least a 100 grand to be there if not more.

As far as I'm concerned, they can do away with that whole shitshow they do in the middle of the grounds, the mud bog thing, and blacklist about a quarter of the swappers in favor of people who would actually drag sled shit there.

I don't see the swap going anywhere.  A lot of their attendance is for the swap only.  Also they charge the swappers a good amount I'm sure.  It's the backbone.

Luckily the stuff I'm into nobody else likes so maybe some sweet deals on Sunday at the swap.  Last year Northern crankshaft had a bunch of great 90's vintage cat stuff.  Also picked up a new BM 800/900 can from them for $100.  Got a BM Speedo from the swap that I eventually flipped.

I couldn’t edit my thing to add more. With Yamaha done, I bet all the snowmobile manufacturers pulling out of it is on the table. Haydays does nothing to increase their sales. It cost them a ton of money to be there. I think that is why haydays is shifting of what they do.

They are running a slippery slide right now and I think that’s why they are doing what they are doing. Look at the vip stuff they are selling now for a lot of money.

We'll see I guess.  I don't have a real attachment hay days but will go when it works out with my weekend's.  Unlike Princeton which is on the calendar every year.

Princeton was good this year, even though I didn't get much.

Will probably try to hit up Byron and Gilman too.  Saw a banner for a swap in Waseca too, maybe try to go to that one too.

Been to Princeton. Princeton is what haydays was. I would rather go to Princeton. That is a real snowmobile event

Not sure on those shows. That’s what the swap is now. From my last trip. The last time I went be before last year was 2015 and what a change it was. The only reason I went was because I bought a catalyst and wanted to see one in person. Maybe I am old now.

I see flyers for others that sound cool but October is no good for me.  I'd like to check out the st Germaine swap and hof on the memorial weekend.

I don't really care about the sideshow stuff or anything else that I'm not interested in.  I don't go to vendor area or racing or freestyle or anything else.  I'll check out OEM row, try to spot Roger Skime, score some free shit, and do the swap.  Hay days swap is probably 3x the size, so that's cool.  But yeah I like Princeton better but whatever

Got a standing invite to go with some guys that swap every.  Then I look at the sleds I have and really don't need anymore sleds or want to sell what I have.  For parts look through what I have and normally take some part for them to sell.  Ask them to look for junk shocks with bent rods or broken eyelets that I'll use for parts.

They said the market has changed over to past couple years.  They use to take sleds over and had good luck selling them and make some money.  Now sleds are a hard sell and parts sell good as guys are keeping sleds longer.  

A key for them is to clean the parts good and have them labeled with price year and model of the sled it's for.  Have them laid out and displayed well.

You still have the guys selling screen doors off of house that was torn down or the lawn mower that doesn't run or any other non-snowmoble junk that they're trying to sell.

Good luck for the guys looking for parts and deals.  I'm sure it will be a good time

Yes,  there really is an app. I think it has GPS maps, event schedules,  vendor locations ect. You most likely don't need it.

I like to go there Saturday morning. I park across the road at the Racer edge parking lot, they have shuttle bus that drops you off at the front gate.

I get all the bulk items like oil , belts first, then head to gate and catch the shuttle bus back to the truck to drop off the goods, I know the guy who drives the bus, so he takes me right my truck. Then head back to the event to see what else I don't have or need.

meh, it was alright.  seemed like there was a lot of people.  spent the bulk of my time just visiting with a friend and his wife from PA who came out to unload some stuff.  there was a lot of shit to look at, which I didn't bother with.  saw Yamaha's last ever snowmobile display...
