Everybody has there price…. Pay more and they would have to turn away applicants.

“Millennials and Gen Z – are looking at the oil and gas industry as a dirty thing from the past, wrecking the climate and not worth their attention as job seekers.”

Nope that’s a lie

You sound really in tune with the youth.  Perhaps tell us why they are all uber excited to go work those jobs in oil.

“the cyclical boom-and-bust nature of the industry is putting off many others, and so are the working hours and a relative lack of the work-life balance that Gen Z crave”

This would be the reason this millennial wouldn’t apply nothing to do with its a dirty job. I have zero interest no matter how much it pays in working a job with long days or on site for days or weeks on end.

That will change when they realize how many things in their everyday lives are derived from the oil and gas industry from their home, vehicles, computers, and so on down the line.

GenZ’ers aren’t much into adventure. They prefer the comfort and safety of home. Total departure from us Boomers. We craved the excitement of chasing our dreams. I couldn’t wait to get out of my hometown and start a life. We were the original risk takers. Hopefully GenZ will find the value in striking out into the unknown. I kinda doubt it. So filled with fear and anxiety. Those GenZ’ers that do will simply kill it.

I’ve spent a few years in the oil fields, believe me they are not cutting back in production. Just the opposite

There’s a major labor crunch coming in 2025 for the oil industry in Canada. There’s plans to bring in foreign workers.
