Lol.  If you'd ever jumped a road and landed on flat ground you'd understand trail vs fun clicker settings....but you'd have to own a sled to do that

Why the fuck would anyone jump a road to land flat? You time it to hit the slope on the edge of the road. But, you’d have to own and sled and ride to understand that. :lol2::owned:

he pretty much lays it all out there regarding the corporate overlords...

All corporations take the fun out of every job eventually, in my opinion.  They'd replace us all with robots if they could (and eventually will).  Just give me a good severance package and they can have my job.

Is he involved with the sport anymore?
they should get jay quinlan on there or Dane furguson on there to talk about the early days of free riding as they aren’t factory connected like burandt and won’t have to watch what they say.

I just listened to the Cory Davis one. Was interesting to hear about the strategies employed during the iron dog, including how to get the sleds to live during 100 mile stretches of no snow.

Hopefully Spencer can get Ryan Simons on the podcast soon.

100 mile stretches of no snow?  In my Alaska??

 One low snow year in ‘16 and had you bothered to actually listen to the interview you’d understand there was snow and ice in that section. But no… you were too stupid to actually listen. :owned:

Climate change is real. Disprove any of the links I’ve posted.

You’re winters will continue to go to shit and I’m going to be laughing at you from the great white north.

I bet that would be really cool to hear his story about the how he got involved in the industry, racing, aftermarket world ect from that time period. The ultimate one would be to get Roger skime and the “condo crew” or whatever they called them that brought cat back from the dead. The sad fact is they won’t be around much longer so it would be awesome for that to keep accurate history that will be easy to find right from the people that did it.

With Black Magic I'd like to know about their direct relationship and involvement with Cat.  They were extensively used by the factory race teams and located right in TRF.  I would just like to hear how close that relationship and involvement was.  I'm guessing the cat engineers would tell them all kinds of things, especially in the engine department, that the factory couldn't do but they knew there were gains in these areas if you do these things.  It'd just be cool to hear how that dynamic was, it seems like BM was just the hotrod extension of cat, just without technically being legally part of it.

Yes Roger would be cool.  There's just so much stuff you could cover, the interviewer would really have to plan their questions wisely.  You'd want to follow a few threads to get the good stories but you'd also have to keep it moving to cover all the different eras.  In his career there's just so much you could talk about.  I've got to talk with him twice and the first time was at the trf show and we got him to sign a couple things but were so starstruck that we couldn't even really say much.  We were wound so tight we had to leave the show after that and went to chill out at black cats and then later returned lol.  Then crossed paths with him at hay days same year and said s couple things but would really like to ask him his thoughts on the niche 90's stuff that I'm into that is off the beaten path, just to hear his opinions and any other stories related to that stuff.  He's such a good guy.  The last trf show was so cool, talked to several of the old cat guys and saw many and it's so cool they still are into it and I think they knew their time was special and really enjoy it and looking back in it.  The whole weekend was really just a celebration it was really really cool, hard to explain.  I really hope there's another one, I know there's been talks about trying for 65, because nobody wants to wait til 70

Are you positive that BM wasn't actually an AC entity at one time?

They had a business relationship for sure.  But I am pretty sure AC never owned the company, if that's what you're saying.  Tim Berg was the owner in the 90's and it got sold in the early 2000's and then there was a second ownership that didn't last too long, I'm not sure who ran it in that second tenure.

Tim offered the biz to me the last time I saw him at the Milwaukee snow show around 2004-05...I kindly turned him down

Eventually it was purchased by Arne Sr and Arne Jr from White Knuckle Performance in 2006

Black Magic Racing Under New Management | Snowtech Magazine

It was never owned by Cat...Although Tim still had strong ties to the company from his previous employment there...

That makes sense about wkp as I know they were selling wkp exhaust in the later years.  I have a wkp/BM can.

I had a White Knuckle racing exhaust on my 03 RX-1...It was loud enough to wake the dead @ 10,400 rpm
