This later contributed to the great economic collapse of 2008. My issue with all of this is that I’m not able to leverage (falsify the value) of my property in the same way that the ultra wealthy can. The issue with that is it places increasingly more wealth in the hands of the ultra wealthy because they can successfully lie about property values to acquire more and more property through loans based on bullshit. In turn they sell the properties for a profit which was gained under false pretenses. Point being, if I had a 1500 sq ft home and claimed it was 3000 sq ft….that would never fly with the bank.
