J. Jackson
Yeah, I was wondering about short irons. Cleveland Launcher XL's look kind of interesting.

If you like em and hit em well then play them. Having CG that deep and low gives a lot of forgiveness.

I still carry a 4-iron for the occasional punch out shots when I find the trees (oops!). But I tell ya what, I really like the hybrids. I agree but getting out of the rough might not work so well is my thought. Think that I might give them a try.

My 3 and 4 hybrids are awesome of out of the rough compared to irons. I'd expect the same with the shorter clubs.

Ping crossover 3 iron but wouldn't consider it a hybrid. My fairway finder. Can still hit it 230+. Basically an adjustable loft iron. Its actually way more of a players distance iron than my regular irons which are game improvement. https://ping.com/en-us/clubs/crossovers/icrossover Edited February 15 by Highmark

J. Jackson
Yeah, I have both a 3-5 hybrids but trying to find someone with experience with the shorter"hybrid" irons.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but my league partner (65 yrs old now) went from his old Taylor Made RBZ irons to basically replacing the majority of his irons with woods/hybrids. He still has a couple wedges, but he uses something like a 19-wood/hybrid (don't hold me to that number, I just know it's a hybrid and he used to use a wedge). Now he uses it for the short Par 3 we have (110 yards for him). His words, "I wish I would've dumped my irons a long time ago." Whatever works! He has other hybrids for 130+ yards too, and basically uses his wedges only when he's in the sand.
SSFB
Played Mission Hills North - Gary Player course yesterday. A little rusty, especially on the front. 44/38 for 82. Relaxing and pool time today. Another tee time tomorrow at The Westin - Rancho Mirage. Pete Dye course.

SSFB
Played a lot better today. Putter was on fire. Three birdies to start the back 9. 41/36 for 77. Loved this course but it could beat up a guy on a less than good day. I should have taken more pictures, this one doesn’t show how cool this course was. Lots of hills and water.
