I think about 30% of Americans are probably just ignorant. About 50% just want somebody to tell them what to believe and say and do. Only about 20% actually bother to look into things a bit more than what the media/government shows them. The 20%'ers are the most dangerous to the system. The top tier of that 20 are usually targeted by a government agency of some sort to keep them "subdued". Usually the IRS does this quite well. If anything we've learned data is hard to keep out of the wrong hands. If sensitive information like NOC lists are included people can lose their lives if the data isn't protected.
