IRS Is Starving

Need to hire the agents to crackdown on Oligarchs avoiding taxes.  Unless people on here are in the top 1-2% - you’d be a real moron to object.

The agency’s workforce of about 80,000 is the same size as it was in 1970. Its enforcement staff has fallen by more than 30% since 2010, and audits of millionaires have declined by more than 70%. Its budget has declined by nearly 20%, when accounting for inflation, during the past decade.

That has led to a $7 trillion “tax gap” of revenue over a decade that is owed but goes uncollected, in many cases from superrich taxpayers such as Trump, who has boasted that he fights to pay as little tax as possible. But the resource shortfall is playing out against the backdrop of a partisan and ideological battle over the IRS that appears sure to continue to constrain its ability to match the capacity of an industry dedicated to tax minimization and avoidance.

Yah ….and the $600 rule is totally for oligarchs.

Bohica says that only applies to business accounts.  I’m not familiar and don’t really care.  The big fish are the oligarchs and average citizens should support the IRS and their efforts to collect from them.

The United States has a spending problem. A massive spending problem. We don't need more IRS Agents, we need more people investigating the government for fraud and abuse of power.

Good luck

A country born over a tax revolt is going to add more IRS agents? Well at least we will still have free speech and guns.

Oligarchs are avoiding taxes they should be paying.  Why are you a pawn for American oligarchs?

Because they don't need a $600 rule or 87000 new agents to track down a few dozen oligarchs.

That’s not what the facts support.  But by all means continue on with your ignorant narrative being soon fed to you from right wing echo chambers.

Name more oligarchs than the one you're clearly implying, TDS'er

BTW - it's not the oligarch, or whatever billionaire anyone is pissed about.  It's the tax code, and the fact those people have accountants who understand the tax laws, and file the taxes on the oligarch/billionaire's behalf.

Look up the top oligarchs.  Your dear leader is a fraud and I don’t consider him an oligarch but a con man.  The IRS wants to better enforce the tax code - so why do you have a problem with that?
