Puzzleboy
Anybody ever build something like this, or know where to buy them? I think they use a boat hand winch for the incline, some are using electric. Cool design.

Puzzleboy
Have seen that one before. That thing is slower than a Polaris.... Lol Looks good, but the one that pivots in the centre is dead simple.

Puzzleboy
I know. HVAC plumbing is heavier gauge...... I wonder why they didn't use a Yammy for the demo?
Poncho
See the 1980 Sting on the top shelf, my buddy had the exact same sled. That's a 1980 440 fan. Great little sled Edited March 13, 2017 by Poncho
Puzzleboy
No, but I see the one on the top shelf. It does look nice. A bunch of yellow old junk would be nice too....... Pretty smart design though, with the pivoting top shelf. Elegant, simple...... like me. Just now, Poncho said: See the 1980 Sting on the top self, my buddy had the exact same sled. Sksman
Did you see the lift on kijiji? pogolift.ca $2,000.
Puzzleboy
Hadn't seen it, but did see the Pogos online. Nice unit, but I'd need 4-5 of them. So would be a bit spendy. Thanks for the heads up SKS.
Sksman
How big is your garage? Headroom?
Puzzleboy
It's a 30x42 steel building. Headroom varies depending on where you position the racks, but I'd like to put them around the outer perimeter, near the front of the building. Can't recall that dimension offhand....
Sksman
Why not buy old storage racking? Put double wide and two racks deep overtop the left two boats. Cut them to fit height wise and put 4 to 6 sleds overtop of boats. Use a ramp to load.
Puzzleboy
Have thought about that, and would look pretty cool too. One issue is, the two boats on the left and another not in the picture, are tenants (which could change from year to year). So the height could be an issue at some point. But being that the building is 30 feet wide, I could put posts at the 10 and 20 foot points. Where can you buy that old racking? Warehouse shutdowns, etc.? Sksman
How many sleds are you storing? Do you have a skidsteer or loader tractor with forks? Lots of good cheap pallet racking around on Kijiji. Shop around lots of junk stuff also. check widths and type of crossers. Some have wire racks that fit.
Platinum Contributing Member Blackstar Posted March 14, 2017 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted March 14, 2017 I have some of that steel racking here that someone gave. Now I know I'm using it for.
Puzzleboy
8 sleds. The ol' man has an old tractor with forks. Gonna find out how high it can go. Will check Kij; thanks. Sksman
Better check the weight the loader can lift also. Does he have a rear counterweight on tractor? Or snow blower that will serve as counterweight? Lots of factors to consider. Pictures show gravel floor so anything with rollers will be useless. Or close to it. Is that boat on right in picture with scum line on it yours?
