Platinum Contributing Member SnowRider Posted June 17, 2016 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) Fuck trickled on economics.....can't raise taxes on the rich because of 'redistribution of wealth' Those in the Top 1% have done very well in recent decades. Their share of the nation's income doubled to 20.1% between 1979 and 2013. Related: Top 1% see incomes soar 188%. Everyone else ... not so much That has also made American more unequal. The Top 1% of households made 25.3 times as much as the bottom 99%. Back in 1979, that figure was 10.9. Just how much better the Top 1% varies by state. New York is the most unequal, with the richest earning 45.4 times what the rest of the Empire State does, on average, according to EPI, a left-leaning research and advocacy group. ..: http://money.cnn.com/2016/06/16/news/economy/top-1/index.html Edited June 17, 2016 by SnowRider

Gold Member BOHICA Posted June 18, 2016 Gold Member Share Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) Just over 200k a year gets you into the top 1 percent in red states. Not hard for a couple that each work. Not bad and not unreasonable that these 2-300k a year get a tax break. Top 1 percent is mostly just upper middle class across the country.... Not rich by any measure really. Thanks for posting snowrider..... Really shows the democrats war on the top 1 percent is really not needed and a waste... Much like the war on marijuana. It is hard convincing the current bunch of dem voters to understand what the 1% actually is. The elites in washington keep convincing them it is guys like Bill Gates and the Koch brothers only. Just briefly looked at it. Looking at the original post link some place like new mexico like 230k is top 1 percent. New york the top 1 percent is well over 600k. 600 k a year in new york to live near or close to work you can prolly rent a broom closet on a timeshare coop or something. top 1% could use a tax break cause overall the top 1 percent doesnt make that much money at all. Point is the lower end of the top earners can't afford a decent home in some cities. Many today find themselves being house poor. They could never afford to buy the home they are in if they were starting out today. Edited June 18, 2016 by ArcticCrusher

House and 5 acres cost 160k 30 years ago to build.. 5 bedroom,3 full bath 2500 sq.ft. colonial, I think the taxes were close to 3k then. No it's absolute fact, the bullshit argument is that it's because of farm subsidies. I don't know. You tell me. How much did these former blue states get in subsidies?
