Cold War
Supposed to be of written in 1996. At any rate it is spot on. I doubt most today have the intuition or consciousness to understand what has happened.

SSFB
Only thing I watched today was less than an hour of YouTube videos. None of it related to news or politics. Average day.
Cold War
We just had a tornado blow through Saturday. No power, internet, cable, or cell service. It is crazy how dependent and addicted we are. Like a bunch of drug addicts punching away on our devices for any kind of stimulation. The lockdowns have been successful in part because a lot of people want it, They don't want personal interaction with people.

We recently moved and the internet provider jerked up our equipment order….took a couple of long days to get it right. It’s amazing how tough it made it. But…in the same sense, it’s amazing how quickly we can all learn to live without any of it if we had to. Like, having to go back to paying cash and writing checks. How much better off would most of us be then? BTW, “prolific” would also work just not the best choice.
CFM
I use the computer and phone for parts look up /ordering / diagram look up / etc fir alot of my day. I’m in an area, like prob most now, where parts people get things wrong way too much. Add to the fact over half the time they have to order the part in or get from another store, thus receiving wrong parts is way more painful. Internet goes down, shoot me in the head. Lol. I can scream at the people on my TV , I can make people on here look stupid, I can call you a cunt , with no consequences whatsoever. I don’t even have to read your response. In real life I try and make my wife or buddies look stupid, call em a cunt, I have real consequences to deal with. I am as guilty as anyone with the TV . I have it going whether I am watching it or not. I used to be a big reader, but I know I am never going to finish a 1000 pg. book like I posted. I no longer have the attention span to read a novel. Bold: This is why liberals are just so frustrated. Yep, my tv runs from the time I get up to the time I go to sleep. Without it, something feels weird. Plus, too much quiet time and my tinnitus starts to make me want to visit “consequences”. Lol
Mag6240
I've started using the MUTE button a lot more the last year or two, followed by the power button, or a switch to a music channel. But yeah, try to go to sleep without it on? Impossible for me. Throw on some old John McClain or Indiana Jones, and POOF - out like a light, until the credits start rolling.... Yup, I switched to the music channel after work. I watch a half hour of local news at lunch. I used to watch news from 5:30 - 8:00. Shit does nothing but make you angry. It’s like the normal world again. Me and my old man were talking a few weeks ago and laughing. We’ve got a couple people in our family that are flaming liberals that watch their media seemingly 24 hours a day. Also have a couple on the other end that have their media on about the same. Both are miserable and insufferable to talk to or be around….for different reasons. Just now, Cold War said: Same here. I have to have something to drown out the ringing in my ears. I no longer have the attention span to read a novel. i have almost completely eliminated TV. i watched it last night for the first time in months. no tv in the bedroom anymore. instead now i watch youtube videos as the 10-15 min format keeps me interested my attention spans gotten so bad. I do still read a lot. 4-5 books a month on average I would say I can get immersed in a book with some music in the background.

Local news for as long as I can stand it then Pandora the rest of the day until even/night when I stream something of interest like documentaries or certain shows. Used to be local 2 news all morning then scramble to change the channel when that Wendy Williams shit would come on.

Im embarrassed to admit, I have been reading same book for a year. I need that instant gratification now of just reading a few paragraphs. 1 hour ago, Skidooski said: Local news for as long as I can stand it then Pandora the rest of the day until even/night when I stream something of interest like documentaries or certain shows. Wendy comes on and the dog jumps up. She knows the TV is going off and it is time to get back in crate. Going back to work.
