He rolled his shoulder putting the qtr backs head in the ground. Most refs would call this.

Overall, I agree that many calls when tackling /pushing/etc  back are weak.

Btw: people still watch the Lions ?

  Dean Blandino says otherwise...it was an absolute horrible call.

What clip did you watch? That’s horrible officiating.

I was talking out loud on why the official made the call. Not that I agree with it or not.

I played college ball late 80’s. Things where very different then. I can see why things have changed but some of these protection rules are crazy soft.

THey are. Were a few in the jets/pts game that was just momenum . Dude couldn't have not hit him.

It was a terrible call but it gave the lions a top ten pick. It’s to bad they beat Chicago after Trebisky fumbled giving the lions a useless win. They’d have a top Five pick with that loss

:lmao:  His momentum was just taking him thru the tackle.   Nothing wrong or illegal about that at all.   The whole bodyweight on the QB call should be reserved for when its malicious and intentional.   It wasn't here.  

This is what using the body weight intentionally looks like.
