Carried over from HCS

From Kane Lake 20 miles north of Two Harbors, nothing's groomed but the forest roads are mint and ditches are pretty decent.  Rode 46 arm pumping miles today. The Yukon swamps were a workout.

  • On my way to the Trestle, and more sunset pics from today. Axles are nice and quiet again. Creeks are scant with water, saw 1.5 puddles along the trail.

Awesome!  Way to go FB!

I talked to “D” and he said he was heading out this week.  So, that tells me there is just barely enough snow to ride.  Lol

There are lots of people out I saw over a dozen sleds today. Tell d-rail to update here when he plans the "brisk pace" rides, I want in on 1 or 2 of those this year.

Is the ground frozen up decent?  We used to ral on the North Shore by Duluth early in the season where we knew it was grass under the trails.  Fast and slippery but, nobody on them yet.total blast.

Yeah been frozen up for a while now. 10+ inches of ice on the lakes. I'm sure a groomer would still sink in a swamp though.

Subscribing for updates!

 Ready to go!

2-4" expected it looks like.  You are going to need alot more than that before trails are in good shape.  Between the lack of snow and all the restaurants closed it's a bad start to the season.  Snow will come but probably a couple more weeks at least.

Picture is from Saturday about 7 miles from the Pequayawn lake inn. Logging roads were ok in the woods the open areas were blown clean.

I was hoping the Tuesday storm would dump more snow, but it looks like just a few inches.

Well....that’s a first!  Lol

How any of the meteorologists stay employed around Superior is amazing to me.  I wonder what their suicide rate is.

Same with doctors.  Wifes been to Urgent Care 3 times since AFTER the covid, 3 different doctors - 3 different opinions - 0 real diagnosis.  All 3 of them gave her muscle relaxer and pain killer.  Brand new hospital that just opened a few months ago.... and this crap.

North Shore update.  I spent 9 hours moving snow today.      VSC updates?

Haven't heard anything yet from Bob, swing over to him and see what they have planned.

Trails around two harbors about what you'd expect, ungroomed and bumpy

Trails around Duluth have snort and dirt spots so, early season riding here.  “Click” central.
