Some good basic Investing Tips.

Recommended Posts

Some basic sector analysis as it relates to the virus, with some buy rated stocks.  Worth a read if you're an investor, nothing earth shattering here, just solid advice.  The sky is not falling.

Be better off at the casino , not a single thing in this market runs off anything related to common sense , value or fundamentals. It’s a sick fucking joke

Well the bottom line is you either believe some of these companies are going to make a come back or they aren't. If you believe they are then you should invest in them.

That’s not the bottom line. I shouldnt have to pay a PE ratio of 70:1 for a company that should be priced at 15:1.....all because a renegade central bank wants to pump trillions into markets to insulate the rich from losses

Yes I know but that's the game. You can play or not.

So far my REITs haven't skipped a beat and I'm not expecting them to.:bc:

We are in uncertain times no doubt, hope it all works out.

Kill yourself you fucking retarded dipshit. You’re dumb as fuck

Please, get the fuck out of this thread if you have nothing better to contribute.  And ftr,  EJ does not give buy ratings on stocks valued at any where near 70:1.  Which was kind of the point.

Was on a webex today and the guy hosting said, "we entered a very dark tunnel a month ago, and no one knew where the light was going to be, we knew it was coming, we just didn't know when.  Silly analogy certainly, but no one knew where or when this thing would end, or how bad it would get.  If you believe in the market, you ride these things out.  :bc:

i'm struggling with finding some more individual stock plays.  I had some terrific winners out of 08 that doubled the markets gain plus over the past 10 years so need to pick some winners this time.  I've dumped a bunch of mutual fund holdings going to go with a mix of market ETF's and individual stocks.

I've done ok with Boeing, GE, Tesla, Polaris, (and am still waiting for the NCL investment to pay off in the past month.  Many consumer discretionary stocks in general have had huge swings.  That said, this is assuming the volatility will continue.  But those stocks I mentioned were making double digit gains and losses almost daily, which to me meant possible opportunities.  All those stocks listed in that link were good long term buys, solid, but not quick scores.  Sad that I'm hoping for more volatility, but those quick scores are fun, some of these companies are 20% of what they were a month ago.

I made some purchases into the downturn which did go lower and I added more but ultimately am down at this point in time.  These are positions for me which are 7-10 year views.

SNAP - I own this only because I was looking for an alternative to Twitter and my kids as well as every other kid uses this platform.  I don’t think they have a great monitization plan just yet but it is an affordable play in the sector.

T - I think ATT is a blue chip with good dividend and strong mobile and media outlook.

SAIL - in the IT space, identity management, PAM, and soon IA identity learning is huge.  They are the market leader and Gartner leader.  They are the ServiceNow before that blew up.

IBM - dividend and they are one of the best at AI for both data science and security.

My two REITs...ORC and MFA are on hard times.  But I still like the space.

would like to hear others opportunity thinking.

Other than SAIL which I'm not aware of, the other ones are solid, and good point about the dividend payouts.  I have many clients who live on those dividends.  AT+T has a great dividend.  REITS are touch and go here.  Mall properties bad, healthcare good.
