Going to be much worse in some places than others.   Closer living and more susceptible will be worse.   Benn that way all over the world.

For sure.

Keep in mind that we are the most mobile country on the planet. That mobility makes it very easy for this virus to cover vast distances very quickly.

We knew some places hadn't peaked yet.   Some states have just started to level off the rate of increase.  Big cities are the issue.

Which states have started to level off?  :dunno:

Yep and why I've posted about a half a dozen times people fleeing big cities or hot spots is an issue.

Im talking about still having cases of people testing positive just at a slightly slower rate.   You have to measure it with how many more we are testing which is significant.

Im way more worried about all the people we aren't testing. The ones with minor symptoms that aren't even going to the hospital.

I agree but we are looking at these numbers so statically.

For example.   If a state has 2 more positive tests today than yesterday (8 to 10) but tested 500 more people that is significant leveling off that the straight numbers just don't show.   Actually shows the opposite.

Looks bad in NY state but their death rate is about 1.0%.   At least that is somewhat positive.

The craziest thing is the hit rates on the testing and how dramatically they vary.

New York has tested 122k people and almost 40k have come back positive.  That's an astounding 30% positive and it means it's spread incredibly heavily there for a prolonged period.

New Jersey is 33% positive, though the top line number of tests is lower.

Of the states that have tested over 10k people, only IL, LA, and MA have over 10% positive rate.

Michigan is kind fucked though!  As of today they've run about 9500 tests and 30% of those have been positive, meaning the community spread there has been heavy.  Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties are the top three.  Michigan has a current death rate of over 2% which is higher than the national average.

The greater Detroit area isn't good.  The rest of Michigan is fine, as always. The majority of Michigan counties have less than 3 cases.

What happens when it gets out of the greater Detroit area and into rural MI?
