How much did you pay for healthcare?

I pay a little over 20k yearly

Probably around 10k out of  my check but they kick me $1500 to an HSA because we have high deductibles

If he was smart he's drop his whacky plans obviously a promise he'll never keep and maybe concentrate on health care. But..... Wanting the government to run health Care is stupid. I don't see big government as capable of doing a good job and feel like quality of care will tank.

Well that hasn’t  been an issue when it comes to waging war around the globe. Raise taxes and take care of the people here and stop wasting billions around the globe. At some point the can has to stop being kicked.

I'm all for ending wars

We don't need to raise taxes we need to close loop holes and quit throwing our money away on stupid shit

quality of care for our seniors is overall quite good and paid for with the same system that would run healthcare for all.  We already cover the highest cost group of people-  no reason to not cover all although I do think there should be a deductible/copay on a government run system.  There will always be waste, fraud and abuse in any system public or privately run but we can try to put some guardrails in place to keep them minimal.

I pay $11k out of my checks right now and my company pays a bit more than that.  double the medicare tax and eliminate the private insurance and the system should fund itself and for most the cost will be flat to lower and the coverage belongs to the individual not the company which for many takes the handcuffs off that are keeping them in a spot.

I like most of that but I also feel there needs to be a healthy living promotion program of some kind as well.

Something like the healthier you live the less you pay

ours could use a dose of privatization.

Nothing wrong with a 2 tier system that covers everyone with basic coverage and a second level people or employers can opt into at an added cost.

Helps alleviate a backlog for essential services for all.

Half of the podcast I listen to based on sports are out of Canada. I've heard these guys complain more than a few times about how it works there......and it's not like it's the subject at hand

I waited a week for my MRI, had results next day and surgery two weeks later.

The treatment I received after the immediate Care was flawless and top notch. I actually couldn't be more impressed

Got some swamp land for you too if you believe a single number on that chart.

If you call now - 'Dental & Vision included':lol:

Do you have your own math to show the flaws?

What's the plan for the rampant fraud in Medicare? I think cleaning that up in itself is a better start. Its like 50b a year

I bet both fraud reduction and increasing coverage could be done at the same time.

Average household in Canada pays $13,000 for coverage via income tax and that does not include dental, vision, or prescription medication.

Please tell me how the States are going to be able to do it for $10760 less per household (assuming $85k household income) and throw in dental, vision, and prescription medication on top?

Even at $500k thats about what I pay already for my insurance for me and my family. But these faggots would like to keep their fascist employer paid insurance rather than get some bootstraps and pay for their own... They are worse than socialist, MAKE SOMEONE ELSE PAY FOR MY INSURANCE!!!!

You're comparing an average 2 an income specific chart. You cannot derive averages from the chart that I posted.

your propaganda chart clearly indicates a household earning $85k per year would pay $2440 for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drugs.

That's a bigger lie than Mexico will pay for the wall, I'm not releasing my taxes because I'm under audit, and I'm going to eliminate the debt through my great trade deals combined.

Insurance costs more than that here. You take that burden off of the employer and cost of doing business goes down significantly and full time employment would go way up because cost of health insurance is the #1 deterent to hiring full time help.

BUT... Govt health care does not work unless they take measures to reduce the cost of care. Personally I think the best system would be one where each household is allowed $XXXX amount of dollars every year tax deductible for health care costs and they pay for their own treatment. Fuck insurance.

If health care providers, pharmaceutical companies and doctors had to take cash payments for service people would shop around for best prices and they would have to compete. The way it works now is premiums are based upon current risk pools and costs plus mark ups. The relationship between healthcare providers and insurance companies is incestuous. the higher the cost of care the higher premiums are and more mark up for the insurance companies. And if they can underwrite out certain services they keep more money. Its a system designed to fuck the customer.

It’s unlikely an employer would voluntarily give what they currently pay in health insurance for employees to the employee to pay for their own health insurance.  Medicare for all would be a huge windfall for employers I suspect.

i think the sanders plan would have to create a law that would require employers to give the employees the cost of there health benefits in their checks and maybe index that to inflation or cost of Medicare.

I believe that it's incomplete and stops at $1m/yr.

Pretty sure the plan doesn't cap taxes at $1m/yr
