455 employees contracted to WE to administer the grant program have been released from their contract.

now we know why it was 20 million

We also see that the charity in question wasn’t fit to handle the project.

any charity’s could have hired 100’s of workers

we all know bans today will not do anything, but saying that seems no one cared since most Canadians have no interest in guns

my comment was funny, you know humour something you should look into - being a angry ONEWAY is no way to go through life

"If you know a scandal is going to come out, then you release it first. You try to beat the story, and you try to get it to someone you think is going to be supportive or friendly. The real issue is the CBC — we all pay for it — it's not supposed to be friendly to friends of the Liberal Party. So the fact that they even felt like the CBC would be friendly in and of itself, that's a pretty serious problem."

So if we divy the $20 mill. amongst the 455 contracters that comes to almost $44,000 each for less than 2 months work. Sure looks like WE would be taking a really big cut to me.

 A contract can be for any length of time.

but for clarification, here is the Gov't wording re the CSSG, So you are realistically looking at a 6 month window to administer the program and distribute funds.

Post-secondary students and recent graduates must register no later than August 21, 2020, to be eligible to receive the grant. Completed applications for the CSSG must be submitted no later than November 6, 2020, and participants will only be able to count hours accumulated from June 25 to October 31, 2020.

"Two sources told the Star that WE originally indicated it would honour the contracts, most of which were set to end Aug. 31, according to the organization. But on Tuesday, the sources said, WE let them go. The organization told the Star that workers were given additional compensation based on how long they had worked with WE. "

WRONG!

it was Oct 31 and has been extended due to shut downs

The grant will be worth between $1,000 and $5,000, depending on the number of hours completed. For every 100 hours worked, a student is eligible for $1,000, which means someone must volunteer 500 hours to receive the full grant.

The program opens today and runs until Oct. 31, 2020. Only students and recent graduates 30 years old and younger can enrol.
